Apparently we are looking at Foran from Manly, WT and Newcaslte both looking.
Not sure why we would look for Foran


Cos our halves are shot. Not the worst option for a year.

Don’t think you could ever rely on Foran to make it through a season. It would have a be a 1 or 2 season signing. Anything longer than 2 years would be madness. The article says 300-400K which shouldn’t be a problem with our cap space. I still won’t the WTs to lock S.U away before any new signings.

Don’t think you could ever rely on Foran to make it through a season. It would have a be a 1 or 2 season signing. Anything longer than 2 years would be madness. At least we’d have Hastings/Brooks to fall back on. Unlike the Hodgson situation. A lot of people want to punt Liddle to make it happen, but if Hodgson went down, everything is left on Simpkin’s shoulders.

I guess the Foran thing could happen if the Hodgson transfer falls over.

But I'd rather the Hodgson option, Foran has failed outside Manly. And I wouldn't want both.

Why would Manly release him? They had a good season last year and he went well for them in the halves. Schuster is still getting plenty of minutes in the 2nd row, he's not about to up and leave because he's not getting game time. Seems like it's just a poorly thought out possibility that a journo has made up.

Hodgson deal on the verge of collapse, according to Telegraph. Good:

Josh Hodgson’s highly speculated move to Wests Tigers is on the verge of completely falling over.

It is understood the Tigers have set a deadline of the close of business on Monday to know one way or another if there is any chance of negotiations proceeding.

But unless there is an 11th hour change of heart it appears Hodgson will be staying put for the final year of his current deal.

It’s been suggested that the Tigers only want to pay Hodgson $500,000-a-season to make the move, but would offer him a two-year deal.

But given he is currently on a reported $850,000-plus, that would still mean a significant pay cut for this coming season, although he has been paid the first month of his 2022 salary worth an estimated $70,000.

The Raiders are also reluctant to let Hodgson go given the current uncertainty surrounding Tom Starling’s potential availability for the start of the new season.

Starling will front court in the new year over an alleged incident outside a Central Coast establishment that has resulted in police charges.

The Raiders were at one point interested in a potential swap between Hodgson and Jacob Liddle but nothing has come of that.

The Raiders have maintained all along that there is no ongoing drama between Ricky Stuart and Hodgson relating back to George Williams’ controversial exit earlier this year.

Would be very disappointing to miss out on Hodgson IMO. The good dhs are ‘proactive’, they lead the pack around and dictate plays from the ruck. They have multiple skills, run, pass, kick and defence. They are absolutely key players and need to be sharp footy brains.
I am sorry but Liddle has not shown that he is at that level. He is ‘reactive’ at best, has a couple of good runs in him from time to time but that’s it. One dimensional, and we need more from a dh if we want to compete with the better teams.
