Hodgson deal on the verge of collapse, according to Telegraph. Good:

Josh Hodgson’s highly speculated move to Wests Tigers is on the verge of completely falling over.

It is understood the Tigers have set a deadline of the close of business on Monday to know one way or another if there is any chance of negotiations proceeding.

But unless there is an 11th hour change of heart it appears Hodgson will be staying put for the final year of his current deal.

It’s been suggested that the Tigers only want to pay Hodgson $500,000-a-season to make the move, but would offer him a two-year deal.

But given he is currently on a reported $850,000-plus, that would still mean a significant pay cut for this coming season, although he has been paid the first month of his 2022 salary worth an estimated $70,000.

The Raiders are also reluctant to let Hodgson go given the current uncertainty surrounding Tom Starling’s potential availability for the start of the new season.

Starling will front court in the new year over an alleged incident outside a Central Coast establishment that has resulted in police charges.

The Raiders were at one point interested in a potential swap between Hodgson and Jacob Liddle but nothing has come of that.

The Raiders have maintained all along that there is no ongoing drama between Ricky Stuart and Hodgson relating back to George Williams’ controversial exit earlier this year.

Terribly written article. Forgoes adding in any Canberra top up in his salary this year.

Laurie is not a gun fullback, he is a fullback that’s shows a ton of promise
Doueihi is not a great no6, rather a solid six having his second knee job in a few years
Hasting, we have no idea what he will produce in the NRL. My guess he will go ok but not sure he will be great.

If he did, he'd mostly focus on Parramatta's 'decimated player stocks', how they're 'perilously close to falling out of contention' and how 'heads must roll' over the handling of their player roster. Then he'd mention 2 lines about Papalii.

as much as I love an NRL conspiracy theory its probably likely that a security guard took the flick of Kikau in the shirt off the computer and sent it to his mates and that Reed was dining in a public area with Gus and T-Baz and that naturally draws attention.

Not landing Hodgson would be a bit of a blow,he could really add some grit to our team.He might actually show some of that leadership that we all hoped Tamou would.

I’m a Luke Garner fan,he was pretty good this season before he got injured.first two games a lot of fans were upset with his defence,he came back with some real sting.was better defensively than Lucy.
I’d be surprised if he goes to super league,I feel a few teams would want him here.He can be pretty lethal in attack.
I hope he stays,but I’m probably biased ?

I have some faith in Liddle. Horrendous knee injury a few seasons ago takes time to physically and mentally get over. Yes he was not great last year, but I get the feeling he will be a lot better in 22. Still would take the Pom at the right price, but if the deal falls through, not the end of the world

The biggest flaws in Liddle's game are his ability to pass and his engine. Long term injuries would have impacted the not get gassed and can likely improve but the long term layoffs shouldn't have had any impact on his ability to find the mark passing. I really hope he improves that part of his game because he damages our go forward and red zone attacks as the ball runner is constantly having to check their run or catch the pass high or low

Glad we didn’t sign Elliot. Canberra got him for $250 which is cheap but not still takes a position in the Top 30 and is $100K above min NRL wage.
Had we got Elliot ….It may have been the difference in signing Papali’i or not.

I just think he's an ordinary player that wouldn't have made us any better and won't make Canberra any better, plus he seems like unnecessary trouble off the field that doesn't learn. I'd rather see what Seyfarth has to offer.

Seyfarth looks more ready for NRL. Wouldn’t have like to see him in NSW Cup and Elliot in NRL.
