What’s with all this hate for Laurie? He’s 22 and had played 3 NRL games before coming across. He joined late in the off season. And was expected to fill in an important role in an unsettled spine. Yes he’s got things to work on but so does after one after one year in the top grade.

Hate might have been a bit strong but you get what I mean

It’s just an honest assessment imo. There’s nothing unfair about saying he was solid. The fact he was one of our best this year speaks more for the rest of the squad than it does him.

Earlier comment from another said something about him being poor and wouldn't get a start at FB for any other team in the NRL

I'd like to see WT's sign Mikaele for another season, I think that there is a lot of talent there.

Has all the physical attributes to become a pretty good player. Still young too

Once they get that first big signing I think things will start happening pretty quickly for them. I’m surprised it’s taken this long to get someone

There’s not many big names out there though. Smith and Ponga might be their only marquees

I think they will lure a few away from the final year of their contracts once they get the ball rolling

Yeh, I think you get your big names first and then go after others. Pay slight overs for your big names first and then hope the others come on for less to join a new club and play with the big names.

Laurie will be a very very solid first grade fullback maybe come five eighth hope he kills it but think will be a key part to a growing spine, not that special freak player

Not many players are. I’d take a good solid fullback at this point. I think he can build towards above being just solid personally.

If Dylan Edwards is a good enough fullback to win a comp with Laurie is more than good enough.

I actually can't remember daine dropping a single catch. The bloke is more than solid.

Laurie reminds me of a young Ben barba. Can’t believe people are writing him of already. First year in nrl, not much of a preseason and he was one of our best. Fullback is the hardest position to play on the field. He will only get better. Thanks for the numbers, puts things in perspective.

He is so good under the high ball. Ive never doubted him catching them. seems to have so much time. even running it back he is fearless. That's how he did his leg.

NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo previously said the code had explored the idea of two trade windows, one during the middle of the year post-State of Origin and another at the end of the season. On the weekend, Abdo said defined player movement periods would be a central part of collective bargaining agreement talks, with the current deal expiring at the end of 2022.

But needs to bulk up a bit which will improve his missed tackle count..and need improve his positional play as fb
I think he can do both...but 2022 is pretty critical for him

Our team needs to put some desire into their tackling so we’re not so reliant on a little fella at the back.

Both statements are very valid..but his position is the last line of defence,so he has to deal with that effectively
