Only been calling out for one since Ellis... and then shining just as brightly and simultaneously for 2 of our best years in Club History, Dwyer.

Would of been two of the goats had they managed even half a full-career in the NRL. Fellas how good is it that we’re clearly learning some lessons or engaging in humble pie eating and discussing/looking to shore up weakness.

Always helps to not end up sacking someone. Hold onto Luc and see if he is as much of a turncoat as BJ Oporto’s

Why are we letting him go now….?…keep him for 2022 and off he goes in 2023,

Starting the season with Lucy and Garner was not an option. Weak defenders. If we can’t get a replacement then Blore and Tuilagi will battle it out to partner Papalii next year.

Isn’t Papalii starting in 23?

Sorry meant 23

Do they have any good centres we could swap him for?

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow

Murray Tualagi I really like too. I reckon Val Holmes could make a good centre too but he's on too much coin

This is a good point, do they not also have some pretty decent back up wingers?

Luciano has some style to his game but is far from being a complete footballer.

I don't think he has the pedigree to ever really become one either.

For the Cowboys, another Esan like signing.
I'll be very surprised if he sees out his contract.

His 3rd club in 3 years. Doesn't say much good about the guy.

Seems like a laugh. Class clown. Loves his tucker. This club needs a few with a serious attitude around winning.

Only one defensive liability left now damn we must have some money! Would love Bateman and Thompson

Stick a lockdown second rower on Noffa’s side and we might not have to watch him do so many butterfly impersonations. It’s amazing what a good defensive second rower can do !

Maybe , but to think Nofa doesn’t chase the glory intercept rather than hold the line and bundle his man into touch , is to deny the fundamental truth .
I like nofa , but he’s definitely a mug lair .
The Morris boys are the poster children for backline defence because they seemed to play the percentages. .
It’s why Nofa is the perfect tigers player .

Luci is not worth $700k but if someone was prepared to pay that, good luck to him.

In saying that we do not have a back rower that is better than him.

Talk of Blore and Tuilagi is premature if we can’t lock them up. If they leave it is the next lot of kids coming through.

No marquee will want to come to a club to be surrounded by kids.

We need to build a squad of competent first graders, and for 2022 we have not recruited a single established NRL player.

Our recruitment and retention needs to be better.

Once the dolphins are around what do you pay someone who is amongst the first players picked in your team.

His defence was poor, he should have been playing in the middle, but we will not improve through releasing him next year.

I get that but my point is he doesnt have to make 8 (poor) defensive decisions per weekend if things aren’t breaking down on that edge.

I disagree if he has even 10% of his brothers poor attitude. We don’t need people who think they’re better than they are.

He was one of my favs so I can’t say I’m happy to see him go. Alot of attacking flair came from him, through a break or off load. Despite this I have no issue with the club not going to $700k. The problem now is that we need to hold him to his contract unless we get something in return. We can’t keep being the roll over club that allows players to break contracts while we wait for players we sign early to fulfil their contracts at other clubs. Big stand needs to be taken here.

Yeah, the answer is just 'no'. I don't begrudge Luciano asking for a release (again, I would too for those extra dollars), but every year we face this crap and until we stare someone down it'll continue.

I was thinking along those lines with Aloiai and Matterson but not with Luciano. You are right he offers something different in attack but then the other team gets the ball and he goes for smoko. Wests Tigers can’t afford to carry a guy like him. Plainly and simply he can’t defend.

Agree, just roll out the melbourne storm line. Either we get a favourable outcome with a player in return or he’s not going anywhere.

It’s no huge loss in my life eyes. Good in attack and poor in defence. If he does leave then I’m glad we aren’t ruining our cap to keep him.

I think the article is embellishing the story to put it mildly as well. I definitely don’t think he went from strength to strength this year. If anything his form dropped a little compared to 2020.

I hardly think we’d be shattered either

Yeah definitely. I think most Tigers fan wouldn’t really care about him leaving especially if he’s asking for $700k a year.

We really lack experience in the 2nd row, especially with LL looking likely to leave.

Helium Luki has heaps of potential but we need some experience as well.

Would be keen for Sims for a year or two if Dragons kick in a bit for 2023, otherwise send Wigan a transfer fee for Bateman.

Interesting that apparently the dogs are shopping Cotric around but he is reluctant to come here.

If he wants to play in the centres would not have a better opportunity.

I hope it is media spin but there does seem to be a significant problem recruiting and retaining talent.

He was never a 80 minute player. You play him for 60 minutes and I reckon he wouldn’t have been as bad. Still don’t think he’s worth anything more then $500k.
