Api Koroisau, Reece Robson and Jacob Liddle have all been pitched to the Eels in the wake of the crushing departure of Reed Mahoney to the Bulldogs.

Liddle is another hooker off-contract in 2023 with the Wests Tigers dummy-half linked to a move to the Raiders in a swap for Josh Hodgson.

Liddle has also been spruiked to Parramatta as an answer to Mahoney in 2023.

Contracts mean nothing look at LL wanting to leave now I’m not saying they want to offload Liddle now but if they want to they can give him permission to look elsewhere

I don’t know what some on here want , Liddle is not origin class but he is a good 1st grade player , doesn’t miss many tackles has great pace , just needs to fine tune his play around the ruck maybe Farah can work on that

He was the 2nd worst hooker in the NRL this year for Try Causes and Line Break causes in defence. He's a massive liability in our middle defence. Probably coincides with his lack of stamina

And maybe he doesn't want to go elsewhere. Hasn't got much to beat where he is.

Maybe not but after 2023 I doubt Liddle will be here or if they do keep him he’s depth as by then Simpkin will he taking over

That’s an easy call to make now, but if both improve (as expected), then Liddell is still in front of him?

Personally I just prefer Twal at 13, bring in Thompson at prop and play Peachey off the bench to provide spark and impact

But I do agree he would probably be better suited at prop but still think he can bring something as a lock then maybe shift to prop later within the game when Peachey comes on

Sorry …but for me Twal is no lock. He has no ball skills and offloads are no existent. Very good one dimensional player but a good one. Prop is his spot.

Twal has been tried at lock and it was unsuccessful. In todays game you need a dynamic lock. He’s my first prop picked as he is rock solid and that is where he stays

I reckon Cowboys and Tigers won't be able to make a deal and Luciano sticks around until '23.

There's only a few specific players we want it seems and the cowboys don't want to let them go, plus the players might not even want to come here

Nth Qld are struggling to acquire experienced forwards. To wait another year to acquire LL does not appear to be smart business. If they are prepared to move along one of their two good young second rowers to gain LL then there will be a deal. I believe there will be a deal due to the close relationship between Sheens and Payten.

I'd be very happy if we snagged one of their young second rowers but I reckon they'll want to hang onto both of them

Hopefully it works out for WTs. I have confidence with Sheens and McDonnell overseeing this that we will get a good outcome.

I have absolutely no confidence in Mcdonell. Track history being really bad at his job

Agree! Joffa bit of a myth and I really had hoped Twal would add a few of the extra dimensions required for him to hold the #13 down.

Mikaele with poor hands was another issue... some seriously bright spots as well!

None of it.
We have 40 odd points put us by most teams in most games throughout the year, And there's one bloke in the side that can't tackle?

We're a lowly team so everyone feels the need to death ride someone until they're gone so we can still be a lowly team.
Jacob Liddle is not Harry Grant (Not many young hookers are) He's got a way to go...
But there's much more upside to him that a heap of other Hookers atm.
JMK, Rein, The Brailey Brothers, Turpin, Egan, Granville/Robson... And there's others.
He's on par or better than most of those - He's also playing with lower calibre players than most of those.
He's the hooker, Not the Fullback - He's not always going to be where the ball ends up... Especially when we have no idea where it's going to end up.

He gets roasted for the Ofahengaue play the ball... But no one mentions Blore (I think) and the 3 other guys that are just standing there spectating....
There isn't another team in the comp where one of the guys in that position wouldn't get to dummy half.

As I said, He's got a way to go... But look at what's about in Hookers and Halves...
Nothing - And as Parra have just found out - We could do much worse.

Amazing how these rumours about Liddle emerge when the Eels have lost their No 9. Coincidence? I don't believe so.

I get that point paws, but its also amazing when journalists just throw darts because its clickbait. I wouldnt believe a single thing from them grubs until I hear it from the club of Liddle directly.

I mean...Brooks is still here and was supposed to be at the Knights already. Just made up crap.

I would rather him have 0 line breaks and have an excellent passing game.

He wasn't terrible but has plenty to work on if he wants to be a long term NRL hooker. A running game is great but needs to work on being a dummy half
