Boooo

He played well at the trial.
His run to the line with 4 players on him, only to be denied by a bad camera angle when it was pretty clear that the ball must have grazed the grass, was pretty good for a 1st hit out. But getting the ball in space is the key to unleashing the Jet's afterburners. We have been missing that ball distribution for some time.

Correct his been playing injured too, hopefully stays injury free and should have a big year.

That's at

That's at the low end of his reported Salary, most reports have him on $900-$950k
That was his salary when we re-signed him after winning Dally M halfback. His newer contract is a bit lower, representing his failure to maintain his form. He's still overpaid though.

Well unless he actually gets the ball then we will never know.

Hastings gave him early ball a few times in the trial and he looked sharp, effective, speed & strength was positive. Up against the starting center/wing/5/8th combo for the Roosters.

Let's hope he gets early ball 1st few games and we see what he is made of.
Yes I recall the same talk last year. I watched him at games and he was rarely in a good position to receive the ball after having wandered off infield. He just dawdled around looking gassed and with no sense of urgency at all. I would be very surprised if he had a renaissance this year, he looked like a spent force to me. Yeah he was ok in the 2nd trial but I don't see it lasting.

Was a little disappointing last year tbh,but if hes still got his speed and is in a good head space theres no reason why he cant recapture his SOO form from a few years back, particularly now weve got an organising 7 who can throw a pass that mite put him in a bit of space
Hope he goes great

Every time I see a post on social media starting with "Wests Tigers are pleased to announce.." my hopes rise. It is usually shut down quickly with it being a new sponsor on board or something. Haha Let's hope today is different!
Yeah man, I'm the same! They've really got to start to differentiate the opening preamble between player signings and signing up a bin company.

How about we wait for the season to start?

Let's be real. He is on a min contract and hasn't come close to that form for what 2-3yrs already.

Expectations of getting back to SOO rep form is far too high. It's great to dream but I can't see that.

A simple goal would be for him to stay on the park, play consistent footy and let his speed/strength do the talking whilst holding formation. Get back on the kick returns and be ready for some dirty work, in defense hold the line and mark the player. If he does that I feel with Hastings he will see more action and who knows we might have a reliable center. We don't have any reliable centers at the club currently so this would be a nice change.

None of us knows the exact amount theyre paid of course, but media quoted mid to late 500's for Douhi(we sort of got played a bit at the time, but we needed him)...Brooks quoted in mid 700s...and Hastings??No idea
Hastings had a point to prove coming home, which means some sort of discount to the market, but he was one of the most highly rated players in ESL and $600k doesnt buy much in a 7 jersey here(Hunt gets twice that!)
My point is,weve got (and paying for)3 premier halves ,yet have huge gaps elsewhere
Just one of many reasons why were favorites for the spoon
I think our half stocks are reasonable and rather shrewd recruiting at a time when a marquee isn't available. To have three capable halves and a promising rookie in the club, for a reasonable value, is a far better position than others.

Need I mention that Ben Hunt is on 1 million a year. By himself....

Jets only 29..has had no serious physical problems.& .shld be coming into his peak years
Getting fit is first part of the equation, and it appears hes worked hard on that... getting & keeping his head space rite is the next challenge
No reason why he cant succeed, and I wish him well
Quality centres are very scarce in this market, which is why we resort to Gildart/Talua/Stanford...all of whom have promise potential but unproven at NRL level tbh
BTW..hes quoted in the media to be on $150k...club executed our option on 2nd year. But my guess is theres gotta be some sort of $$ incentive in there based on number of NRL games played..but again, who knows other than the club and the player?
Point is..there's unusually not a lot opf $$ at stake for WTs..unlike some of our serial underperformers..

Add Kepaoa to that. He would have been starting the season at centre...

I saw he did his pec i knew he was coming back from the knee reco but i didnt know about the pec obviously he did it in rehab. Poor kid played well in the centres then did a knee now a pec, not sure when hes meant to be back as i dunno when he did it.

Did it about 3 weeks ago and has a 3-4 month layoff. Was looking forward to seeing him in the centres this season...

He did it around the 20th of Jan, so he's 6 weeks post rehab, which is good news. you're right, 4 month return is possible depending on the nature and grading of the tear.
