Would anyone here agree with the Broncos for paying Payne Haas 2.8 million for 4 years ?

Has he signed on for that?

Yes and there is talk that the Broncos will struggle to keep players because of salary cap pressure….Salary cap pressure mentioned in the same sentence as the Broncos makes me laugh

Souths have made a $500k a season play for Su'a

Off Contract Players i'd go for

2 Forwards
Shannon Boyd (Big body metre eater)
Iosia Soliola (impact hard running edge player)
Ethan Lowe (goal kicking all round second rower, very handy)
Leeson Ah Mau (impact bench player)

1 Back
Josh Mansour (experienced, great finisher)
Blake Ferguson ( fast, tall, good under high ball)
Clint Gutherson (can play whole backline, great fullback)
Corey Oates (young, great player who would play wing or SR really well)

imo i'd get

Shannon Boyd
Iosia Soliola
King Gutho

Is he off contract, I thought he had at least 1 more year, actually he isn't off contract til the end of next year

Payne Haas a lot of money for an 18 year old will take a couple of seasons to get use to the rigors of FG the hit by Klemmer was solid but showed his inexperience a couple more hits like that may shake his confidence for ever and the big boys will be looking for him

Unless we start winning a few games again, we have no chance of signing anyone decent.

The attraction of coming to the Tigers is wearing off imo.

OMG have only just seen my very first forum post, and must say all the genius thoughts I was having are nowhere to be seen. It looks so unintelligible and needed a paragraph or two.
In all seriousness though felt good to vent a little and I managed to sleep like a baby after it. Think I was driven to rant after the boyfriend commented how it was just a game. So at least I finally got to tell him how I really feel about the Warriors, who I have secretly hated since 2011.

Not sure what the protocol is, but everyone else on here seems very familiar with each other. So here goes. My name is Lauren, I'm 28 and currently live in Brisbane though hail from central NSW.
My love for the footy began with the Balmain Tigers, rewatching a helluva lot of old games with my late grandfather while recovering from a car accident. They got me through some very tough times.
When Wests Tigers were formed weirdly I loved them even more than the Balmain Tigers.
I only ever went to one game which was with my Pop and though I can honestly only remember a player (named Ben Jeffries) it is my best/favourite life memory thus far.

Today I feel more optimistic. I believe our strong start shows us what a great coach Cleary is and what the team are capable of. Plus we may have both Packer and McQueen in this week. And now after those losses we realistically see what we are lacking as a strong competitive team.
Players who have impressed me this year are Thompson and Lawrence. Liddle has too but his size worries me. I think that Brooks has been great on the development front and maybe the Origin drivel or Benji is messing him up. I'm not totally against Benji because up until the Knights game he was good for us, yet old Benji is creeping back in. I think Marsters and Chee-Kam are improving and I enjoy watching Twal and Aloiai. Before Packer's injury I loved both he and Matulino. Thought Matulino was fantastic in the Manly game.
So those are just a few of my thoughts.

Though I probably wont comment frequently, I cannot go without my daily dose of this forum and look forward to reading the good, the bad and the ugly.

No Boyz aloud, Girlz only….................unless you join the MCK fan club?

Ah yes that makes sense , wondered why Hobbo was allowed to join

PS If you do have any issues with sleep Lauren read Geo's posts , some of my best nights sleep come after reading them

Anaesthetists now actually read Geo's posts to patients before surgery and to put patients in an induced coma, then read Happy's posts to bring them back

It's true read Modern Science 101

Sadly, I agree. Three losses have taken the gloss off WT a little. I don't think we'd ever hope to compete with the likes of the Broncos, Storm or Roosters when purchasing players because they seem to have more than the salary cap going for them. Let's just call it creative accounting. But we should be able to compete on equal footing with the likes of the Sharks, Bulldogs, Raiders, Knights and Eels but we seem to be half a step behind them. For example we were at least on par with (if not better than) Newcastle but were clearly out-purchased by them for the 2018 season. I can't put my finger on it but there's just seems to be something not quite right with us when it comes to attracting quality players.

Newcastle out purchased us due to uncle nick sending his discards up there, he has a relationship with someone I recall. apart from taking the punt on Ponga of course

The excitement around Ponga has been well and truly vindicated. Great drawcard for the Knights. They certainly look like they have endured the hard years with some good signs for the future.

Ponga was a pretty spectacular punt you'd have to say. If you think of a 40 - 20 as a good punt, buying Ponga was akin to a 10 - 10\. I also wouldn't regard Pearce as a discard. He's a top quality NRL halfback who just couldn't translate his NRL form to SOO.

I wouldn't start reaching for the razor blades just yet. The Tigers are still in the eight and have only played one real bad game. We are still waiting on the return of Reynolds, Packer and co, and I reckon this Thursdays home game is going to be the test. The Cowboys aren't setting the world on fire at the moment.

Rome wasn't built in a day.
