Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It was funny when the bulldogs board came out and said they wont pay any players to play at other clubs, it would take the Roosters and Storm accountant to work together to achieve this.

This is never going to happen, they are just trying to play hard ball.
No club will take any of their players without Bulldogs paying some of the freight.
Otherwise they are going to be a mess for at least 3-4 years with the spoon.

Unsure what to make of the current situation with Kev. I fully understand if his head isn't in the right place after losing someone close to him recently. If this is the case I hope he has good support from friends, family and the club.

But its strange timing for the SL rumours to hit back but at the same time it is probably just a coincidence with him not being signed to us next year.

I guess time will tell.

Why would Rona switch back to the NRL with a Rugby World Cup just around the corner?

Sure the wallabies wont even come close, but its still a once in a lifetime opportunity, and one that he probably wont ever be able to experience ever again.

If he has been told he is unlikely to be seeing much game time, fair enough. Otherwise, it just strikes me as strange that he would jump ship at this point in time.

x2 We need a top centre and back row forward before looking at him.Its all about priorities

Rona is around 6ft 4, 102kg, turning 26 this year, in 2016 played centre for dogs, scored 11 tries and averaged 94m a game.
They are not bad stats for a centre, he would be a point of difference in our backline

My big concern is I haven't seen any player who has gone to Union and then come back as good as they were when they left

Gasnier was close , but the rest went backwards imo

SBW came back and won the Roosters a premiership in 2013, he was definitely a better player than when he left. The sample size is pretty small and the stage of career that players leave or come back has a pretty big influence on whether they'll be better/worse. Lote still had plenty to offer when he first came back.

Was talking about backs , but he is a good example

Pretty much the way I see it, two years out of the game playing Rugby, especially when your probably close to the top of your game is a very hard ask to turn around and come back to the NRL/

Don't get me wrong he would waltz into our backline, but its what we would have to pay him is a worry to me

Tuquiri!!!!
Absolute weapon his whole sporting career.

Late changes all good from my side, Chee-Kam offers great versatility in covering multiple positions + able to crack defensive lines regularly and McQueen could be exciting!

Tacky will be stoked.

Well MCK has his opportunity to prove he deserves a starting spot now
If he doesn't deliver then someone on here is never going to live it down
Yeah TACKY I'm looking at you
Will the fan club still exist after this round
Or will there be swarms of fans lined up to become new members of MCK'S illustrious fan club
😛ray:
Tacky is that you
