Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

No to both Granville and Mbye

For the money they’d be asking they aren’t worth it IMO

We need a short term hooker until Liddle is 100% and physically capable….. so maybe a Segeyaro or maybe we can try steal Victor Radley away from the Roosters and give him a go at hooker

In regards to the fullback position.... Mbye is as overrated as anyone imo wouldn’t pay more than 400k for him and that won’t happen

See what happens with the Barba and Holmes situation and try sneak in..... I don’t think it’s entirely certain he’ll go to Townsville, if we can go at him and throw some good money at him we’re every chance and maybe sharks want to save there money to bring in forwards due to the lack of players in that department after this year instead of getting another fullback

If it does work out to go Barba to sharks and Holmes to cowboys then we should bring in Nick Meaney so we’re still capable to bring in big money signings and perhaps a bigger fullback may come available overtime

Brian Kelly is a meh signing but you need a few of those so I’d take him

Ethan Lowe needs to be recruited ASAP

Sharks gave Flanno the okay weeks ago to sign Barba he’s going there. As others have said Holmes if he pushes for a release will go to the Cowboys. Sharks want him to stay as a winger.

I like Mbye for 2 years on a subsidised contract makes too much sense. Kelly Egan is close with the dogs he will likely win a battle for his services everything being equal.

Our biggest need is to upgrade Rochow on the edge. Can McQueen do it I’m not sure but I have no idea why we aren’t targeting Ethan Lowe who is out of form and dropped this week. Was borderline origin a year ago and kicks goals at 80%.

Ethan Lowe would be great, he seems to be out of favour with Paul Green at the moment and out form. What are people thoughts on Jaydn Su'a and Tyrell Fuimaono.

Su’a is a machine I read somewhere Souths have signed him for huge dollars to replace Angus Crichton. I’d be surprised if Wayne didn’t get a tpa to keep him.

A problem we have at present is we have a few players who have a confirmed booking on the bus for a long time who probably should be getting off at the next stop, whats more they are costing us plenty of space on the bus. The trick will be how the bus driver manages to get them to disembark early

How many minutes does Granville play at the moment?

Dont think he plays 80

Cowboy fans think he is the next Daniel Fitzhenry

They want him gone

He started to look the like old 2015-16 Granville last night , running from dummy half , creating havoc

I suggested a few weeks ago that Su’a should be looked at he’s a gun and has a handy offload too

Broncos have 4 young guns off contract and can’t offer big money too all they do have a salary cap with the Milf and Bird both on 800-900 k

Oats
Pangai Jnr
Issako
Su’a

If we get any of them I’d be over the moon

Cowboys problems have nothing to do with their hooker, Moses is more consistent this year than Thurston. I know JT has been in my Supercoach team since Round 1 :roll hurry up round 13…

Their forwards lack go forward and they rely so much on block plays and 2nd man plays , different side with Morgan in the one jersey

Problem is TMM isn't the answer in the halves

Taumalolo finally looked like real Taumalolo in the last 15 minutes last night , he was absolutely devastating again

If we're looking at Hookers apart from Jake Granville, here are a few off contract options. James Segeyaro, great player and brings a lot of energy. Also represented Papua New Guinea in the 2017 RLWC. Siliva Havili, still fairly young at 25 years of age, can play 80 minutes. Also represented Tonga in the 2017 RLWC.

Segeyaro would be awesome. Son go see Cleary for your bus ticket.

Havili could be interesting too.

Sadly, for whatever reason Elijah Taylor is not working out at hooker. We can't keep putting Godinet in, Liddle seems injured and MCK seems our best but not ideal option.
I wonder if Lawrence could go there? He seems to have the ticker for it.

Do you remember the ill fated "Lawrence to 5/8 he'll be the next laurie daley" That Sheens pulled?

Simple reason - as much ticker as he has, he also has feet for hands.

At one stage , Taumalolo pushes Granville out of the way when they are about 15 metres out and you think this is going to be wasted hit up

Taumalolo finishes about a bee's you know what from scoring with 4 Souths players desperately clinging on

Geo needs to be travelling to Townsville instead of China and Whakatane

Get it done now :rant

Yep Broncos should have some problems resigning this year, some of their best players in 2018 are off contract and some of them wouldn't be on much this year.

Off Contract 2018
Troy Dargan, Jamayne Isaako, Matthew Lodge, Patrick Mago, Shaun Nona, Corey Oates, Tom Opacic, Mosese Pangai, Tevita Pangai Junior, Korbin Sims, Jaydn Su'a, Sam Tagataese, Sam Thaiday, Jake Turpin

The donkeys will sign them all up to a pie and a can of coke each so they can sit at the feet and learn from the oracle that is Bennett. The NRL will swallow that rubbish without a question, besides i wouldnt want thaiday if he came for nothing

Liddle has already been chased by Melbourne, will he hang around behind Granville.

I'm guessing we've lost patience waiting for Liddle to become a regular first grader. How many years has it been now? And people are still saying he's too fragile and not up to playing a full game! The kid has talent, no doubt, but we can't wait forever. Go for Granville I say, we need class now.

The guy is only 21 and just come of a double shoulder surgery with no pre-season. This year was always going to be a building year. We buy Granville now, and then next year when Liddle has had a fullish season and a full pre season and is just coming good, we send Granville to ISP. Why would we do that?

Yes, this. Liddle will be fine with a pre season….he is clearly carrying a sternum injury as he hasn’t been effective for 3 weeks. Hooker is the least of our probs long term.....we need outside backs and 80 min backrowers.

Wish list…

1\. MBye/ Barba (2 years maybe 3) for fullback
2\. Meaney (2 years) fullback option
3\. Kelly (2 years) for a centre option
4\. Rona (3 years) for winger
5\. Cleary (4 years) for halfback
Reynolds Josh to convert to a hooker (because we have him for another 3 and a half years and he has to be ion our plans somewhere) EITHER THAT or Granville (2 years) for hooker rotation
6\. Lowe (3 years) for 2nd row
7\. A prop (3 years), upgrading on Sue

Saying thank you and bye to Kev, Sue, Godinet, and maybe trading Nofa to Eels

MELBOURNE centre Curtis Scott faces two weeks’ suspension for punching Dylan Walker in the face and breaking his eye socket.

Scott can accept the early plea and take the two games, or fight the charge and risk three games on the sideline.

The charge carries 300 base points, but he gets a reduction for time spent off the field after being sent off.

Manly hooker Api Koroisau will be suspended for a week if he takes the early plea for his own striking charge.

Agree with all of this but Reynolds can’t defend in the middle. Long term shoulder problems. Won’t hold up.

Why does Ivan take so long to put Liddle on .If hes injured he shouldnt be playing at all .If not than he needs as many minutes as possible if we want him to play 80 .In the meantime somebody else must fill in at dummyhalf because Talors defence is great but he cant pass fom dummyhalf ie the one to Brooks that made him blow up which I think changed the momentum of the game.
