Roosters are clearly on some decline, it's going to take them a while to ramp back up to be a legitimately competitive side. They haven't recovered from the Cordner / Friend retirements, or the loss of Latrell, and have a few other players reaching the decline of their careers - Keary, JWH, Tedesco etc.

Angus C himself is not at his peak, but he allegedly wants to stay at the Roosters for less. Less now of course, cushy job, investment property and a taxi licence later.

I honestly couldn’t give a rats arse what the Roosters pay their players, how they pay them - how much over the cap they are, what job they get - how many paper bags on a golf course and every other fantasy that’s trotted out here every other day….

Any angle them and every other club does to keep top line talent - is Available to us as well… as it is all the other clubs, some use it better than others - some clubs align themselves with the right people to make it happen….

You can’t blame them because we’re not smart enough to do it!!

Well you can if it's cheating.

For example Storm really did cheat, proven, and they won a few premierships off that. If you are allowed to cheat, or should emulate the cheat, then the whole system falls apart becomes far more lop-sided than it is right now.

I'm not advocating that Tigers start cheating.

Every club cheats - including ours!!
- but you know that…
If we had smarter people and could align ourselves with more money - we’d be cheating more…

Totally agree with you Batboy, its about time people stop finding ways to rip the other clubs apart and start looking into the way our club is going, just face facts they are Better then ours, Smarter than ours and more Attractive for players to go to. Its not rocket science and until we start to copy the top tier clubs nothing looks like it will change, if we pay overs for the elite players so be it as at the moment all we do is loose 2-3 good players, and replace them with 2-3 good players, staying where we are, in the bottom half of the table year in year out?

The only fantasy is the fanstasy is that you dont believe the rorters cheat the salary cap.

Yeah for sure he is a rookie coach look what this job has done to Madge a seasond veteran who has succeeded at all his previous clubs imagine what it’s gonna do to a rookie
 
As WT have only won 2 games and sitting in 15th spot I feel Maguire days are numbered.

No easy solution but feel like the Board has lost it's patience with Maguire.

No idea who will take over or would be a great match for this club that has lacked success in a long long time.

I'll break it down for you....
I don't care that they do...

We can, do and have as well....
We could do what they do - But we don't....

I'm not saying it's OK, I'm saying it happens - Everyone knows it happens...
Everyone knows it's far from an even salary cap....

20+ years of whinging about it has obviously done nothing, The game has been whinging about it for the best part of 50 years.
Might be time to get with the program you think?

So you want us to get back in cap shit again that we have desperately tried to fix. We are are nearly out of that mess.
Does Mbye, Reynolds, Packer, to name a few ring a bell.
This year was always going to be a hard year for us considering our average roster.
We are in a storm and we need to ride it out.
Having money in your hand is better than not.
Someone will crop up when no one can afford them but us.
With money in our hand we are in a better position to get our pathways into better shape and to retain players like AD and JH.
If were over the cap we struggle.
I'm led to believe we have enough money to get at least 2 x 600k players for next year to replace our departing backrowers so that's our aim IMO.

I've said it before - There's been a gazillion "Cameron Ciraldos"
Remember Garth Brennan (Barely lasted a year)

The Titans and Knights coaches were the next Cameron Ciraldos - Both got better squads than us, How they doing?
Big complaint about Morris at the Sharks was they can't beat top 8 teams - Got Supercoach Fitzgibbon, How many top 8 teams they beaten this year? (Got Parra and Dragons early on) been ordinary since....

There's only so many coaches that go the distance - Maguire has proven he can go the Distance, With an ordinary roster.
