Massive opinions on Da Silva, will be pushing for top 30 in 2024So the club sees da Silva and rua ngat as our future 9/14 by the looks of it
David Klemmer has an offer on the table from the club worth $2.1m over 3 years, the club willing to pick-up the full tab of his $800K deal for 2023 with the remaining 2 years being $650K.
Knights have asked for Brooks in return but want the club to pick-up the $200k difference, Sheens is keen to coach Brooks & don't see this side of things eventuating.
The Staines/Peachey swap is currently at an impasse, Staines want's longer deal than offered, currently our offer is only for the 2023 season, we may go in for 2024 but not the 3 years he's after.
To address the Nanai talk, from a personal belief I see him staying at the Cowboys, but it is true that come November 1 the club will be having a red hot crack at him, this comes after Liam's Martin management informed the club that his options were either Panthers (which he'll most likely stay) or Parramatta.
Musgrove does have significant interest from the Dragons but he's told the club twice now that he doesn't want to leave & earn his place in the 17.
The hope of getting Spencer Leniu seems all but hope Jakes Simpkin has been discussed as a potential swap but he's also be discussed with Eels also for a Swap with Nathan Brown, we aren't the only club looking at Spencer & his management has been speaking to multiple clubs, Storm are well & truly in the mix here.
John Bateman talks have increased recently after Wigan became more reasonable about a potential transfer fee. Don't be surprised if start being linked to St Helens backrower Joe Batchelor, he's signed for 2023 but recently employed a Australian agent & is keen to give the NRL a crack (Sheens knows this) also young Wigan Forward Morgan Smithies has been discussed.
Expecting some noise around Hastings to be come louder publicly soon as it appears unlikely a deal won't be done prior to November 1.
I can see someone smiling from up above, and saying “kick them out”.Man Geo would have loved this 🥲
It doesn't appear to be the case. Why would the WTs be able to make an offer? The Knights don't want Klemmer but want Brooks in return! Some of this forum want to give Brooks away when it is not required. It doesn't seem logical.klemmer for 23 hinging on brooks swap?
People clamouring over big name signings should realise what we are doing in the junior space.
Twal would be perfect if we play like NFL defence and attack specialists, but Twal is MIA in the attack, so we play in the attack with 12 players. To paraphrase our great spinner "cannot step, cannot offload, cannot break tackle".Alex is practically impassable front on but on the edges with players body swerve or change up he gets stuck in the mud.
He is a top defender as you say and if he's in our 17, I hope Furner works on his D to make him an even a better defensive forward. He certainly isn't an attacking weapon 😻
Thanks, informative as always 🐅💪David Klemmer has an offer on the table from the club worth $2.1m over 3 years, the club willing to pick-up the full tab of his $800K deal for 2023 with the remaining 2 years being $650K.

exactly we can get Klemmer and keep Brooks that leaves Newcastle without a 7 that is perfectIt doesn't appear to be the case. Why would the WTs be able to make an offer? Depends on what we get in return/ instead. Some people were saying brooks gets the veteran discount next year is this true? We would be nuts to trade him if we can keep him for cheap
the club has Brooks and nofo together post 8 years it is a 200k discount or something. The Tigers still get the discount even if we lose Brooks as we have nofo on the books too. Some people were saying brooks gets the veteran discount next year is this true? it is backended 2023, Sheens will negotiate a new deal 2024 and the discount all will be goodBrooks is not dominant enough to command his salary
21 Years old plenty of time to make a play at NRL.just looked up joe batchelor-re signed 8 hrs ago until end of 2025,bugger
maybe Sheens wants to lock in Brooks and try for Dylan Brown or Moses and thus sacrificing Hastings as a 13 and Douhie as a 6There isn't really any positive news from the Pom there.
Klemmer would be great but he has to be released.
We desperately need a left edge backrower and Bateman I think played on the right plus it's way too risky a singing for us to make. I'd rather not make it.
Newcastle appear to want Brooks. It's interesting.
No Hastings, Laurie, Doeuihi or Brooks deals appear to be coming through. I'd prioritize Hastings then Doueihi but they appear to want to go to market.
There isn't much happening which is what I expected. It's a shame we are such mess in the spine. I'm not even sure who we should be signing.
Salaries can be adjusted and by accounts a Chris Lawrence type deal is possibly being negotiated. Giving him away to the Knights when they want to be rid of Klemmer is illogical.Brooks is not dominant enough to command his salary
