I must be missing something with Klemmer. You can have it both ways. That’s what good team do. You don’t see top teams refuse to sign players because their juniors might come good in 3 years.
We have young guys like Pole, Matamua etc that are developing, but we also need some experience to guide them, on and off the field. How many times do you need to see our front rowers run for 50-60m a game and get completely dominated before you add some starch?
Klemmer also won Newcastles players player, so the guys who are actually in the trenches with him think he is their best. That’s in a team that has the Saifiti twins, Ponga and Frizell too, who would all walk straight into our side.
Must admit whenever I watched him for the Knights, seemed to drop the ball, very hot and cold. Then, after his games for England, I see he is 6’ 7’’ , 107 kgs and quick! Clearly he is progressing - we could definitely use him. Yes we need good forwards as a priority but we need players that have the will to never say die and have a good hard crack at winning the contest. Something lacking sadly recently.Dom Young is good - however it’ll be a dog fight for him and don’t think wingers right now is something we desperately need or should overpay for
Think we should prioritise what’s going on with our spine for the next 12 months, then we can look at polishing up our backline giving our young kids like Asu Kepoua, Naden, Talau, To’a another season to showcase what they can do and working around that - that’s ignoring both Nofa and Ken who are premium wingers
Just my thoughts
Packer came out of jail. Matulino had a dodgy knee. Tamou was way past it and overrated anyway.I must be missing something with Klemmer.
If he signs and adds something to our rebuild and gets us outta the doldrums I’ll happily eat humble pie.
I just don’t see the need to waste time/money on a bloke who’s best years are behind him, Packer, Mataluino, Tamou.
I’ve read this thread for years now, spewing out babble of poor signings, bloke coming for their pension checks, if he’s not one of them I don’t what is.
Australia, eh?playing with Australia A vs Japan at the moment
Good post. I've read at least one comment where Young is referred to as a winger. I believe this undersells his ability. I know he plays on the wing but he is a gamebreaker, an x factor player with the ability to finish when others cannot.Must admit whenever I watched him for the Knights, seemed to drop the ball, very hot and cold. Packer , Matilino ,Ballin and Tamou were all really bad signings of aging former stars who were just after another year or two of good money before retirement
Dire Straights wrote song about it " money for nothing "
Re Klemmer at first I thought NO not again ! But surprised he only 28 it seems like he's need around forever but if fit maybe he's the exception
Halves? No way, stick him at fullback, could be the next Teddy!!Saw this half playing for Tonga this morning and he looks the goods .. maybe we should have a crack at him .. his name is Tiu Lolohea .. even kicked some shocking kicks at goal .. 🤣🤣🤣
Good callIf there were blokes capable of running 150m plus every week and tacking at 98% efficiencies they wouldn’t be playing reserve grade.
I really liked him. Problem was he also liked KFCSaw this half playing for Tonga this morning and he looks the goods .. maybe we should have a crack at him .. his name is Tiu Lolohea .. even kicked some shocking kicks at goal .. 🤣🤣🤣
I really liked him. Problem was he also liked KFC
I will be forever grateful to him though for kicking the winning points for us against the Roosters in tedesco's debut game....Saw this half playing for Tonga this morning and he looks the goods .. maybe we should have a crack at him .. his name is Tiu Lolohea .. even kicked some shocking kicks at goal .. 🤣🤣🤣
He was with Tigers in 2018Saw this half playing for Tonga this morning and he looks the goods .. maybe we should have a crack at him .. his name is Tiu Lolohea .. even kicked some shocking kicks at goal .. 🤣🤣🤣

Klemmer is 28. Fit. And keen
There is alot of talented players that don't kick on it seemed at times his stomach was more important then playing NRL I watched him in junior football and he was a stand out I think having beers and eating KFC is a problem for some playersSaw this half playing for Tonga this morning and he looks the goods .. maybe we should have a crack at him .. his name is Tiu Lolohea .. even kicked some shocking kicks at goal .. 🤣🤣🤣
Diane Laurie got our players player this year. You can have it both ways. That’s what good team do. You don’t see top teams refuse to sign players because their juniors might come good in 3 years.

Klemmer will protect the kids and show them that aggression is part of the NRL he will help develop them fasterAnd best years behind him!
