Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

From what I read on this forum, AD delayed negotiations until after the WC. That is his decision, but it does expose him to WTs moving in another direction eg Moses. In any event, Moses is a quality half regardless of feelings towards him. If he were to come back to WTs, I would be very pleased.

We rarely agree on players but I do in regard to Moses.

He is a better player than what we have. I question his ability to be the man to steer a team to the premiership but he will make us a top 8 side. If he regularly takes us into the 8, there's a knock on effect to being attractive to other potential recruits.

I don't like him but I think a utilitarian approach is required with him. Bring him back, use him as long as we need him and then move on.

He played Ok that year. Unfortunately that was in 2018. He's played four really poor seasons since then

He hasn't been good has he. We've been at the bottom for years and he has been the main play maker across that period.

He is also an experienced player whereas guys like AD, Laurie, Liddle and Simpkins were all on their apprenticeships in the top grade.

I reckon AD is gonna turn some heads and personally can't wait to see it.... he'll suprise a few next season I reckon

I thought the same thing last season. It's the same problem as Brooks albeit Brooks has been here a lot longer and had a lot more chances.

These guys need to step up and maybe they just don't have it in them.

I can't stand Turdhead but he was a gun when we were poor. Korobiete and JAC were the same.

You've sort of explained the issue with AD wanting more money. He is asking for more money off the back of poor performances. If he kills it next year and wants an upgrade good on him.

This is left field and not really SS&R, but i think some of the players today, have either forgotten or have never learned basic football skills. The great Gasnier perfected the change of pace, Teddy has it, DCE has it, Munster has it, and others , but many do not, and it's easy. Sprint training, Josh ADO, and Cook still do it with professional coaches, surely if you are aiming to improve your game, you would work on this. Maybe they do, in training, i don.t know but extra is a bonus. We have hired a passing coach, who it seems dramatically improves sides ,and a martial arts type to improve the wrestle. I'm probably wrong, but it would not be the first time,

Yep. All those blokes you mentioned do work with Roger Fabri.

Just spitballing here guys. If we're balls deep in the market for a halfback/5-8 for 2024, it looks our best off-contract options are:

Mitch Moses, Dylan Brown, Ezra Mam (as a potential star) & perhaps a greater chance for George Williams in 2024 (than 23).

Now if we miss any of the above, do we focus on within (Brooks-Laurie or Brooks-Doeuihi combo) AND sign either Kurt Falls or Brandon Wakeham as our 30th player for '23 and see what they can do.

Wakeham is still young, has a big kicking game & WC experience behind him now but does tend to go in-and-out of games. Is he worth a 1-year top 30 contract?

Wakeham is no good

Because I was one of the few that didn'have putchforks out for him.
Thankfully Sheens wants Brooks here
Plenty were celebrating when they thought Brooks was gone abd took the media as gospel, now it is turned on a forum darling like AD oh no it can't be true... can it

Didn't realise you were a Kiwi.

Can we pump the brakes on the AD hate.... he’s a very good player who came off his 2nd ACL injury and arguably was one of our best players and only one who could create for us - yeah his defence was sketchy but he’s the type to be able to work on that with a full pre season 100% and he’ll come back with vengeance next season

Take it from someone coming off an ACL injury very recently, it’s incredibly difficult to return and make an impact straight away

Anyone to compare him to a Corey Allan is just taking it overboard
Hundred percent mate !!!! I tore my ACL about four weeks ago playing Oztag & I barely have confidence to walk without my brace/crutches let alone run onto an NRL field. Things like that take a while to come back from mentally/physically. I think with a full pre season under his belt AD can be star for us next season. A bit ironic for me how everyone is riding off AD so quickly but making a thousand excuses for Brooks...

don't know if he is the type of 6 speed wise that Sheens is looking for though.
Brooks is probably that 6 Sheens is looking for and they recruit a 7 in 2024
As for 2023 we are probably stuck with
7. Brooks
6. AD or Laurie
We don't need another season without a proven half. Surely this is being addressed. Don't see Will Smith as a solution, especially if there are injuries.

In my books center and wingers need speed.... He doesn't have =thus he's no center
Which is dead set right.

So then what the hell is he? (Adam D)

Benji always had speed to him. Sure he stunted with his passing and tricks but he always had speed for the try.
Adam isn't a great defender. He is not known for his tackling.
Adam doesn't have speed so he can't be Fullback.

5/8 need to make things happen. Every good aspect of Brooks IMHO suits 5/8 over halfback. Yet where does Adam D fit..??

I can't see Adam D having the endurance for Lock. I like the guy, where does he fit?

Only place I see him fit is centre..unless he gets back into his form he was at 5/8 2 years ago
