Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It starting to look a lot how it went with latrell, we looked all over a winner at the 200 metre mark but at the post we got beat by 5 lengths , can see this heading the same way , I hope sheens has a plan B
I hear you champion @bptiger 0 but Trell was a different situation. Our chairman spoke out, we had $$ and we assumed that the money/opportunity would win.
This time round, there's been little said from the club except clarity about the offer, and fully knowing that ours is just one hat in the ring.

Who is promulgating the idea that Lebs are inclined to play for Bulldogs?

Tigers have a rich Lebanese history including Moses' own uncle Benny. There couldn't possibly be a stronger tie to the Tigers than the one Moses already has, inclusive of the fact he played Tigers juniors and went to school in a Tigers area, and his relatives played for Tigers.

Same myth that indigenous people will somehow end up at Souths.
Agreed but Saw that post from Lebanese coach aspiration member

Anyone else remember the Moses + Brooks halves pairing?

Why on earth do any Tigers fans want to re-create that?

Ahh the good old days Moses stifles Brooks, Benji Stifles Brooks, Robbie Stifles Brooks... wash rinse repeat.
We backed the wrong horse way back when Moses turned out to be the dominant half by the length of the straight. If Moses does come hand him the key's and Brooks goes to being what he always should have been a running 6.

Pretty sure since Wests Tigers have been around (at least), there have been more Lebanese players playing for us than the Dogs.

From memory:

BULLDOGS
Jacob Kiraz
Michael Lichaa
Hazem El Masri

WESTS TIGERS
Ahmad Bajouri
Adam Doueihi
Robbie Farah
Mitchell Moses
Hassan Saleh
Alex Twal

Tbf they were babies back then - Moses wasn't half the player he was he seems to have developed a lot not only as a footballer but as a person as well

Brooks needs a 7 who is willing to take control and allow himself to play second fiddle and be a threat with his running game.... He's very alike in terms of playing style to Dylan Brown, we know that combination worked pretty well

Personally think Moses knows he can get the best out of Brooks and he can also benefit off the back off it - hope we get to see it unfold

The last time they played a full season together they were the youngest halves pair in the comp and took us to 9th. We should have made finals, and may well have if we weren’t carrying a guy who was betting against us.

There are plenty of reasons to expect that they would be a far better pairing now.

Jarrod saffy has Lebanese heritage

Imagine if the plan was to have doughi and mosses in the halfs and get rid of brooks I think this would be a better halfs pairing but I think brooks been here is part of why Moses is considering us
No way that was the thinking finnzo, it was Brooks and Moses , or Moses and someone else they have their eye on with speed. We don't have any idea who they are trying to buy , except Moses.
Have no doubt they know that Moses is 50/50 at best, and have contingency plans for other signings. Much will happen over the next 12 mths, it's early days yet.

Plus we had the two of them in the wrong positions. That season our best games by miles was when Brooks was injured and Moses ran the show
