Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Hopefully Martin Toupou to Easts meaning they have to release JWH for WT to sign.

We need JHW aggression and metres that Packerlino lack.

Also need Josh Alaila to have a break through year as he was quite ordinary this year.

We need a second rower to submit a performance like Felise Koufusi against the Bunnies or Tariq Sims against the Broncos.

Toupou and Alaila with Koufusi coming off the bench sounds good.

I still wouldn’t mind making a play at Nathan Cluely or Cooper Crunch in the halves.

Was he the 14

Yes

He's not leaving the Warrior's there coach has already said he is staying and Luke has a small offer on the table to stay if he wants to

Thanks mate. Hearing anything else???

Most of the things I hear are second third and fourth hand I know a sibling of the Eels first grade squad lots of stories from the Eels a few of the physios at different clubs a few ex board members of a few different clubs and one coach I chat to once in a blue moon and one guy from Canterbury who's in with all the players

But most of the stuff I hear is just gossip with Ryan Matterson that was from a guy with ties to Cronulla he said Cronulla Parramatta and Tigers after him and Tigers made the biggest offer

Just read tonight some Warriors faithful (ex coach) Tony Kemp, want the Warriors to release Shaun Johnson and go after their former ball boy, Nathan Cleary .. !!

If they were to go down this track release Johnson and try and go after Cleary .. where would Johnson end up ..??

Is he a better half back or 5/8 .. do we release Grub and look at securing Johnson as our 5/8 to partner Brooksy .. ??

Should be a very interesting off season I'm thinking .. !!

Are coaches subject to Salary Cap restrictions.

In the absence of attracting quality players why don't WT hire someone like Gordon Tallis to teach our forwards how to be aggressive and run great lines.

We could develop Garner, Matterson, Twal, Aloiai, MCK, Mikela into quality players.

MCK had a break through year but appears best off the bench as an impact player

Where would Johnson end up - on the scrap heap!

If you watched the game on the weekend - he did absolutely nothing in 80 minutes of football.

Reynolds is better at this stage. Why down grade.

They fall under some different salary cap. Can’t remember the name. It’s about $5.4m from memory

I assume this is just trolling, but whatever… you can't just "release" people. If the Tigers released Reynolds they'd still owe him the money from his contract and it would count against the cap. Someone would have to offer him a deal he'd rather take - neither of which is up to the Tigers.

I know everybody has a suggestion on signings…..or who they would like....however the NRL circus never ceases to surprise the most ardent fans...

I will wait until the club makes formal announcements in regard to signings....otherwise it becomes nothing more than hope and ….speculation...speculation...speculation...

with lafai, aitken and lomax- i would happily poach one from dragons.

lomax definitely seems to have a bright future

Lomax re-signed until 2020\. Might have a better chance at one of lafai/aitken.

I’m not one to post rumours, or even post at all, but I’ve been told a week after the Panthers have been eliminated from the finals, Cleary will be named as their coach.

Hodgson will be named as our replacement with Skandalis, and potenially Payten as assistants. There will be up to 2 Penrith players joining the Tigers as “compensation”. However it’s likely to only be 1.

I asked what the players thought, and was told both Benji and Robbie are fine with this as they have a good relationship with Brett. They didn’t have any info on the wider playing group.

Who's your source?? Bringing Hodgo in as replacement sounds pretty weak and at this stage of their careers, who gives a tossed salad whether Benji and Farah approve of the new coach. I don't see why stocking the coaching roles with ex-Tigers is a good move when none of those three coaches have achieved much.

Who's the compensation? Why only 1? Reads like well-written BS.
