Sounds like you are letting what you have read about him off the field overide his on field performance. There was nothing to suggest in his game that he had anything on his mind other than committing to the team and competing to the best of his ability.I think a lot of people are overplaying the Laurie situation.
In his entire time at the club he had had one good season and now what? Two good games at 6?
In his time here, he has been behind Brooks, Hastings and Doueihi in the halves with good reason.
Also picked behind Wakeham, which is debatable, but he has also shown a massive lack of motivation, been photographed celebrating the Panthers premiership wearing a Panthers jersey, publicly liked an intagram video of Cobbo scoring a try against the team he currently played for - which the most mitigating excuses I read were along the lines of complete petulance at being dropped and "he's mates with him", got run down by a forward in reserve grade....
He is the sort of player who doesn't have the mental fortitude to play well for a sustained period of time or unless there is a purely personal reason for him to play well.
Does anyone think he would be playing this well if he had signed an extension at the tigers? I reckon he'd be kicking stones, fading into obscurity in the ressies.
He's played a couple of good games, but too little too late imo.
The only reason it is too little too late is because of the people in the position to select the best players that will give us a chance of winning didn't give him opportunity. The last two weeks we have actually looked like a footy side and his contribution was as good if not better than every player that was and has been selected before him at 5/8 th this season in attack; defence, and attitude.
