funny how all other clubs can seem to do deals , yet we never seem to get any done.

The market is only just starting to kick into gear. Give it a few weeks before you go upsetting yourself over it again.

Teams I follow: Wests Tigers and Arsenal. Both clubs are well known for being slack in the transfer market.

Smart play Tigers Fitzgibbon is a young superstar in the making. Big money for Klemmer, Jennings and Val Holmes swoop in for Hess and Fitzgibbon.

What did i miss with Jennings Tyga?

Parra are shopping him. Newcastle the only club said to be keen. Negotiations going on re: how much Parra would chip in. If Parra can shift him they might yet offer Hayne a contract (that he might actually accept).

Thanks Nelson.

Seems the Eels are shopping pretty much everyone except the guy responsible for their mess. The coach!

Hess will be one of those guys who sees out his career in QLD. Would love to have him here under a forwards oriented coach.

Hess was terrible last year.
Maybe he would benefit by playing under a coach like Maguire who likes a power game.

Yeah, nothing like the year before…struggled in a struggling team, excelled in a team going forward

Would love Hess and/or Fitzgibbon. I rate both of them highly.

HATE to say it but Fitzgibbon reminds me a lot of Glen Morrison/LOD, purely as a player, hopefully not as a person.

I doubt Lachlan Fitzgibbon’s dad would let him leave Newcastle.

He's shown a lot of promise over the last couple of years. Newcastle always produce good hard forwards eg Dave Edwards.

Dave Edwards? ?

One of the toughest second row forwards to play for Balmain. No one got past Edwards who was famous for his bootlace style tackling. He was a NSW detective. originally from around Cessnock,

This guy? If so you must have got to the games early to watch all three grades… )

I’m a fan. I thought his dad is on the board of Newcastle and that whole clan was Newcastle through and though.
Hopefully Brown slaps him and he leaves.

He was on the radar at Souths a while ago but I think this is all just shenanigans to gouge as much as he can out of Newcastle. Can't see him leaving given his family ties unless we trumped Newcastle by a lot, which would not be a good idea…

If Newcastle get Klemmer on the amount thats being reported i think there could be a few players there wanting upgrades that they won't get.

So I was sort of hoping we’d hear of Brooks re-signing before midnight tonight. I trust the validity of Pom’s posts ( even though I don’t post love letters of thanks to him😀) and he indicated Brooks was about to extend for 3 years.
I really want this nailed down before Politis starts throwing around money!

That would be desirable, Yes.

He was an outstanding hard man for the Tigers. Only dropped because of a little misunderstanding with a Panther player.

Who knows, it might have happened but they're saving the announcement for when Maguire starts as a fallback option if we don't land anyone new prior to then. Save your worries for if and when reports start emerging linking him to other clubs…

Misunderstanding?
Reports read “he pretty much finished a guys career with a late tackle”.
Looks like he only played a handful of games.
I could think of a few more appropriate examples than this fella.
I had honestly never heard of this bloke before now.

More like a Ben Kennedy if anything.

Hess is the one. He is a 13 and a monster.
Played with injury this year but when fit can destroy teams. Fitzgibbon is a hole running machine and would be a weapon for us on an edge. Matterson and Lawrence are good so I’d lean to Hess as Madge needs hard running big forwards. We lack badly in this area.

Newcastle are trusting Brown too much he is about to squander their cap position on Klemmer and Jennings. This will hurt them badly moving forward.

They need to be careful Karma will bite them when another club offers 1.2m for Ponga they can’t complain.

Hess didn’t have the best season . I thought he would have killed it in 2018\. When he was on , he was hard to stop. But that didn’t happen all the time.
Cowboys on the whole were poor. I’m not sure why that was.

He was carrying injuries and he was building his motor up as well

Another off season and expect him to be playing big minutes

Defence is a concern though , reckon he missed tackle count would be similar to how many blokes he runs over the top off

Newcastle have done well but they seem to be getting out of hand honestly. I'm all for them bringing in experienced and talent to supplement the local players. However next years team won't have much local talent in it. A front rower should not be paid more than 800k a season. And that's the best in the world prop. Any more and Newcastle will screw up.

I don't understand why Klemmars manager, Klemmar or Newcastle arnt in strife for contacting each other?? What a joke.
