This guy? If so you must have got to the games early to watch all three grades… )

http://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/players/dave-edwards/summary.html

He was an outstanding hard man for the Tigers. Only dropped because of a little misunderstanding with a Panther player.

Misunderstanding?
Reports read “he pretty much finished a guys career with a late tackle”.
Looks like he only played a handful of games.
I could think of a few more appropriate examples than this fella.
I had honestly never heard of this bloke before now.

More like a Ben Kennedy if anything.

The player he hit was a Great Britain international surname Stephenson who played for the Panthers. Edwards was typically a much feared defender from the great Newcastle nursery. No one got around him and he would make many of the so-called forwards today look not so tough.

I'd be making tpj a massive offer.
Unlikely to get him but I reckon he'd be worth a million a season.
Closest thing to sbw there is at the moment.

Mike Stephenson?

The Pommy commenatator now…"Thats a Tee-Arr- Why"

He was a good player...dont rememeber the Balmain bloke

As good of a year Brooks had, I don't think he's quite there as a player other teams would be throwing the kitchen sink at. I'm sure sides will be interested, but might hold off on offering him big dollars till they see how he starts 2019\. We have time imo, no one is going to make him any crazy offers at least till the start of the season.

If we snare Fitzgibbon and Hess our 2020 second row would be pretty great:

11\. Hess
12\. Fitzgibbon
13\. Matterson

They could be there for 5+ years

Thats the thing, which club would make him a priority.

Maybe Souths with Bennett?

Broncos with Seibold.

No one really stands out that would pay him good money.

That would change our small weak backrow.
Hess is 6’3 118, Matterson 6’5 107, Fitzgibbon 6’4 107.

To put out back row in perspective Lawrence is 6’1 100, ET 6’1 102kg, MCK 6’4 100kgs.

If we could play MCK, Lawrence, Twal, Mikalele off the bench it will make a huge difference.

Personally I’d look to sign Hess, Fitzgibbon, JWH, Dylan’s walker. Move on from ET, Rochow, Eiso. We have the cap room but would clear the positions to fit them in.

In an ideal world MCK wouldn't be in our best 17.

Rorters don't need to offer good money just benefits..

If they take Brooks we would be looking pretty good for Shaun Johnson hmmmm

I think that he will resign if his manager doesn’t overprice his contract.
Seems a loyal fellow but then I have been wrong before.

I like him as a bench player he goes well for 20-30 minutes and lower end of the pay scale.

funny how all other clubs can seem to do deals , yet we never seem to get any done.

Except when we signed Mbye and Matterson, both in the past few months.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good story, 2041…

You wouldn't. He played three games!

Hess didn’t have the best season . I thought he would have killed it in 2018\. When he was on , he was hard to stop. But that didn’t happen all the time.
Cowboys on the whole were poor. I’m not sure why that was.

He was carrying injuries and he was building his motor up as well

Another off season and expect him to be playing big minutes

Defence is a concern though , reckon he missed tackle count would be similar to how many blokes he runs over the top off

He played for over 70 minutes on about 16 occasions last year (the majority for the full 80) including the last 6\. His defence stats for the year were 729 tackles made with 39 missed (around 95%).

Moses & Norman apparently not clicking

Roosters? They'll need a cronk replacement.
