Telegraph reporting that we are interested in Tristan Sailor and that we are in negotiations with Seyfarth.

Classic telegraph compared possibly losing Seyfarth to losing Tedesco, JAC and Paps ? I don’t think he’ll ever get that good lol

I am sure i read somewhere that Birds injury problems stem from a rare form of arthritis,if that is the case he wont be coming good as it was supposed to be very difficult to treat

To WT after some serious injuries and worked out well.

Bird is way past his use by date. Bloke has arthritis in both knees and a double ACL. No way in the world would I take him. Just a liability you can't afford.

I would solely because he only has next year left on contract and Mbye has a few years left. Means we could shed an extra year off our salary cap.
providing we can get a fullback this off season.

The condition with Bird is stumping up most of his 1 million salary next season. Now tell me how that is good value?

I am more thinking about 2022 and creating Mbye salary towards another top line player.
We are up for around 850k for Mybe this coming year anyway so if we have to pay another 150k in 2021 for Bird, that we create 850k free in 2022 s we wouldn't have Mbye here. That is a win win for me as there is not much talent out there this year but will be in 2022.

Can't just look at cost.
Mbye gives you 350-500 k in value on the field
Bird gives you a donut

Understand that but would expect the club to do a medical check beforehand and get a understanding of how he is going. By the time the season starts it will be over 12 months sense the last injury..
Don't get me wrong if they had the same amount of time left on deals I would not even consider it but just thinking about 2022 and 850k would go a long way in picking up a top line player. I like Mbye and would keep him if he was on 400-500k but that won't happen

I can tell you medically how he is going - messed up.

Agree, Unfortunately that's where we are but I believe Madge is turning this around very nicely and 2022 will be back to normal.

I think I read that as well. I’d probably still do the swap… with Bird only contracted for next year, it’s a win for sure.

It would depend who else we sign, right now Mbye is our best fullback and is a first grade standard player in several positions.

$1M for a centre with ongoing injury issues with arthritis and a chest bone problem coming off an ACL sounds desperate to get rid of Mbye.

Mbye was good for 14/15 games he played last year. He always deserved a spot in the team and we might have done better with Doueihi at 5/8 and Mbye at fullback. Madge gave Doueihi a good run to develop and take ownership of fullback and we were also short on centres and had too many (almost first grade) 5/8s.

I agree, there is no point or value in moving Mbye on. We would have to pay half the freight and you would never get as versatile a player for the change. Grin and bear it, and play him where we need him. He is a perfect no 14.

If only he played 14, that'd be great. Unfortunately our heirachy see him as 'captain' and leader of men. Therein lies the problem.

9th has been a pretty good result with the team we have... 5-8 in 2022 with most of the duds gone and Madges signings by them.

I am genuinely confused why people would want to say no to him. Suualli literally ticks a lot of madge and forum boxes. He knows madge, he is big, he is fast, he is a devastating ball runner. He is wanted by anyone with money, he is a multi-sport athlete (not enough emphasis on this these days).
Those saying he is hard work, you literally don t know what went on behind close doors. Secondly if he wants those outs in his contract its because he actually thinks he is that good to me another plus (no I wouldn't give them) . Also if you can set yourself up for life at 17 you do it no question.

OK with it if we aren't going to be silly about it. If we want to throw cash after talent I would prefer it be someone at the top of their game rather than potential.

I don't disagree but those players aren't lining up to join us

I'd write off that Suaalii....seems like too much baggage

I'd write off that Suaalii....seems like too much baggage

JAC and Hetherington....if we get those two then I think it's a great offseason with the addition of Tamou and a good preseason with Liddle fit and firing!!!

before this all got out of hand Souths were on record saying how nice of a kid he was and that he comes from a great family. now that they haven't got their way they're carrying on in the telegraph like the self entitled brats they are.

his manager is merely an advisor who really has no idea how this all works and frankly it's showing more by the day. don't believe that it's baggage, just that he is equally good at league and union and can't decide which one to play permanently, and being a 17 year old kid it is definitely showing. I highly doubt he'll be here and will either settle on a "glamour" club or go to union, but if the mail we've gotten on here is correct and he loves Madge we might be in with a shot.
