My issue with Harry is the longer the season went, the less dependable his form became. Not that it was ever bad, because I think he's unlikely to play bad football, but specifically his hooking qualities stumbled a little as the season wore on.

I hear you but as the season went on our forwards became more and more useless, I think that's the reason Grant found it harder.

Have to agree Jay. It was particularly evident against Storm when their big forwards were targeting him, while our forwards were standing back letting him go first in.

Their slow decision making and negotiating frustrates many. Managers say, along with Wests Tigers, they are the most cumbersome club to deal with.'

Tigers perhaps need to be cumbersome for a few years after several years of not being cumbersome enough.

Managers only get the irrits because clubs don't flash the cash or take due diligence. Managers are like real estate agents, they want the deal done yesterday with buckets of cash.

Sure, I can understand your point about being cautious, but..
I doubt anyone could mount a credible argument in favour of inefficient and unnecessary delays in administrative dealings? This sort of behaviour can develop distrust.

“While Arthur is criticised for being too old-school and not taking on new ideas, O’Neill and the Eels football department are castigated throughout the NRL for being “too bureaucratic”. Their slow decision making and negotiating frustrates many. Managers say, along with Wests Tigers, they are the most cumbersome club to deal with.

Last year’s negotiations with club captain Clint Gutherson were a case in point. Rightfully, Gutherson felt disrespected and he has proved himself to be their best player. It was not how their leader deserved to be treated and every signing the club makes is like pulling teeth.”

On a positive have atleast 1player playing in this year's grand final joining us next season. One being the captain of Penrith add in Jac who is in career best form with storm, pretty exciting if it eventuates.

If Bird goes to dragons surely the Broncos will take Mbye?? If that did happen I'd be trying to get Crighton from the roosters on a subsidy win win If we can lull that off

Thanks for sharing.

All I'll say is ego, ego, ego. They gave him the opportunity that Manly wouldn't and *he's* disrespected? If you don't want to be somewhere, then go elsewhere and if the other person in the relationship (ie. the Eels) don't pay you the attention you feel you deserve, find someone who will.

But don't go to the papers or the internet and have a whine about it.

I could humour signing Flanagan if we can find someone to take Reynolds off our hands even if we pay half his freight. Then I'd play him at 7 and Brooks at 6 and I'd be asking Brooks to play as a running support player and second fiddle playmaker to Flanagan. If we then had JAC at fullback we'd be a far better attacking side as we'd be dangerous when we get quick play the balls and make line breaks. We'd have to be the worst side in the comp at support play imo. I wanna see Douehi move to the backrow or centres anyway.

Boys talking about fullbacks.... anyone knows what's happening with Brad Abbey?

Was doing rehab this year. Most likely will be on a reserve grade contract or development contract, doubt he’s in the top 30

Was pretty decently rated as a young fella coming through but never put it together in first grade and now he’s been recovering from an ACL injury

Slow day on the kennel forum?

I gotta say , Doueihi is a way better footballer than Flanagan , and at this moment burton and Schuster . They all could over take him , but what happened to not paying for potential ?

I don’t know that it was Gutherson complaining to the Sun Herald? More likely frustration surfacing from his manager to illustrate a point. I understand clubs often need to hold off while the dominoes fall, but a little transparency wouldn’t hurt during those times.

I've heard everything now - AD to back row.

Just shoot him, it would be less painful for him and us.
