Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I will give credit where it is due and our recruitment over the last 12 months as been as good as it can be...
We have had no money and went out and brought a lot of top line juniors to find the talent until we can offload the so called 3 high paid players.. we could of spent the money on more over the hill player for the sake of it but went this path and also upgraded some of the ones we want to keep. I truly think in about 2 years time we will start to seek the rewards but until then its going to be extremely hard to attract players with our finals record and the media bringing up past mistakes.. I cannot recall the media talking about us and how we are recruiting juniors and building from the ground up as that's a positive story and we don't want that :man-facepalming: .
I do however think we need to maybe lift the anti for JAC not just because he is a rep player but also to be the face of the club. The marketing / memberships alone would give you the money back and once 1 top player comes the rest will follow in time.. Gee we are paying Packer and Reynolds around 800k each and they finish up next year so surely we could offer JAC 750k as I think he will turn out to be a top FB and we will regret it for years to come..

I read that Momo has been released if this correct does anyone know who our goal kicker will next season surely the club must be targeting a decent kicker?

Where did you read this?

I thought AD was doing a reasonable job with GK, still do know why it took so long to give him a kick.

We need to play it smart. Recruit for 2022 now and increase and extend our players we want to keep. Keep bringing young players through. If we can get subsidised players from other clubs to bridge the gap that is the play for us this year.

Meaney if Fox goes to the Dogs and Angus Crichton would be wise in my view on the right money.

We need pace in the backline for 2021 not 2022.

I think we should sit tight atm.Its more important that we have the players who want to be here. I was underwhelmed by the parting words of Huth and Jennings. Blind Freddy could see they didnt want to be here.
We will know in the next couple of days if the contract is signed and if so, following that we will see if he wants to be here, then we can look at upgrading his contract.
NRL contracts are agreed on speculation that both parties give it everything thaey have. Obviously balls get dropped from time to time.

I read it on zerotackle, it list all player movements & signings

Somehow I put little faith in that. Madge has always said he was coming back and has a contract for 2021. That was always part of the swap deal with Melbourne. I guess we’ll know soon enough.

Hope so he is a solid player & thought he wanted to be at the club.

We won’t be doing anything next year we have 4 spots and limited room. You could sign the best 4 players in the comp and we’d make the top 6 at best.

NRL 2020: Saint, Sinner, Shoosh | Rabbitohs’ tough contract call on Corey Allan
The salary cap is set to sting South Sydney and force a painful call on Corey Allan’s future

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have made the painful decision to offer fullback Corey Allan a release from the final year of his contract if he can find another club.

It’s a difficult one because he is so admired among the playing group and coaching staff at Redfern.

The Rabbitohs are in negotiations to extend and upgrade Latrell Mitchell’s contract and can’t afford two fullbacks for the balance of their roster.

Allan, who filled in so capably for Mitchell during the finals, has been told he can look around if there is an opportunity for a long-term deal with a rival club. He has only one year left on his contract.

The Broncos, Cowboys, Sharks and Wests Tigers would be interested in the 22-year-old.

? We need another fullback with no pace at all.
Good player Corey Allen but he’s slow and error prone. Looks good at Souths as does anyone who plays fullback with Cook, Reynolds, Walker in the spine.

They make out South have no money and have to release Corey Allen and then all of a sudden JAC signs for Min wage... Nothing to see here and media will just accept it

This plus Trent coming out yesterday confirm they were still actively chasing JAC, think we lost this one tbh

Yes, similar story at chooks, picking up Suaalii on minimum wage after he knocked back a multi million dollar deal at Souths. Some of this stuff doesn’t make sense does it?
