Edene Gebbie looks to have signed with us. Anyone know if it’s a train and trial, development or top 30 contract?

He will be a gun

Runs like Tedesco

Train and trial I’m pretty sure. Not sure how that works, so he does a pre season with us and if he impresses gets upgraded to a roster spot?

Does the preseason with the club looking to put him on a development contract if he does well.

Hopefully mole is right this time. Cini and Laurie swap is a win win. Great bit of business by Hartigan.

This swap isn’t as hopeful as people think, not ruling out Laurie coming early but swap not looking good at this stage.

Any word on Mansour, there’s mixed reports?

Tigers can target marquee man with Reynolds set for early exit

Wests Tigers will have salary cap space to target a marquee roster addition in 2021 as Josh Reynolds prepares for an early exit to join Super League's Hull FC.

NRL.com understands that Reynolds has verbally agreed to what is believed to be a three-year deal with Hull FC, where 2005 premiership winner and recent Tigers assistant coach Brett Hodgson has taken charge.

No official comment has been made by either club, but it is understood Reynolds' release will be rubber-stamped by the Tigers in the next few days.

Reynolds departure frees up the best part of $500,000 in the Tigers salary cap after he was unsuccessfully shopped to NRL rivals last season.

Having already had a six-figure sum to play with for the coming season, Reynolds' early release will have the Tigers well-placed to target a big name signing moving forward.

The club recently pulled out of negotiations with Storm star Josh Addo-Carr, continuing a busy off-season that has seen Joe Ofahengaue and James Roberts arrive amidst Josh Aloiai's messy move to Manly.

Reynolds' release brings to a close a tumultuous Tigers stint for the 31-year-old, who was signed by former coach Ivan Cleary on a lucrative four-year deal worth around $3 million in 2017.

The ex-NSW Origin five-eighth's time at Concord has been severely hampered by injury, playing just 22 games in three seasons.

His signing for Hull FC comes after fellow Tigers half Benji Marshall knocked back an approach by Hodgson recently.

The Super League move will effectively bring a close to Reynolds' NRL career, which saw him play 160 games in total for the Tigers and Bulldogs, as well as four Origins including a famous 2014 series win for the Blues.

JAC back on the cards instead of Nofo ?

You still want him even though he has shown no interest in actually wanting to be here?

We can do better with that money than a winger.

Especially one who doesn't want to be here!

Sent this from a guy in PNG

Edene Gebbie is on a development contract with West Tigers. The PNG Hunters coach Matt Church confirmed that Gebbie is not among the Hunters contingent to relocate to Queensland to participate in the Intrust Super Cup competition.

Church confirmed he is in contact with West Tigers officials to see how can he assist in Gebbie's fitness during the transition.

This should be a welcoming news for Tigers fans who have been advocating for Gebbie's inclusion in our 2021 roster. He gives a lot of options in the backline (fullback, wing & center).

I think it's train and trial not development yet and I did tell him it's Wests..

He will be here for 2021.

Yeah starting on a Train and trial contract, looking at a development contract for 21.

The guy’s 25 and will be 26 for God’s sake. If he gets a development contract it makes a mockery of developing youth. If he was going to develop he should have done it by now.

It is a different situation with him being from PNG, Tyson Gamble was on a development contract with Brisbane this year.

Ridiculous.

Not really, in Gebbies situation he has a lot to work on before he is genuinely ready for a top 30 spot but these are improvements he should make.

Should be able to with quality expertise. Tahu???

I think Tahu willbe very good for him.

Why?

I agree. If a player/manager doesnt turn up to a meeting without a explanation then move on. The club is providing employment to the players, not the other way around.
