I think going into the season with Kepoa as our first choice left winger is very risky. There are currently a lot of holes in his game.

I’m not a Mansour fan but we need some more depth in that position.

I agree. I'm not keen to sign him but if we did he'd easily be our second best winger behind Nofo. I can think of worse pairings than Mansour and Nofo if they're playing to their abilities.

This is not an Official Announcement..

You need to provide a source for stuff like this..

C’mon, let the young’uns have some fun... you know you can’t do it Geo 😱x:

Just kidding; it’s understandable that there isn’t an official statement yet due to travel still being a proverbial pain in the behind and the PNG training situation being pretty much stable. He’s coming and you better be Gebbie!

How true is this?

Train and trial deal at the moment - not part of the top 30 and not guaranteed a gig yet.

I would love Angus Crighton but I don’t think he would leave the Rooster. I love our club but we are just not at the same level. I hope Madge can work his magic

Here’s the thing at the Roosters: Crichton, Cordner, Tupouniua, Butcher.

That’s 4 back rowers that should be starting in most teams.

The Roosters obviously feel an obligation to Cordner (who we don’t want anyway) which should work in our favour. I would think Crichton is now their other option to start.

That leaves Tupouniua and Butcher and I think either one would be a great fit for us.

I think Block of cheese has a better skill set as a running forward than hooker. I feel his best position is lock. I would happily trade Mbye for BOC

100%. He’s an absolutely elite lock and a decent to good hooker with average service.

Unfortunately every observer on the planet can see his best position is 13 except him.

WHY need another has been winger? We need a second rower and a prop? That should be the priority

I think going into the season with Kepoa as our first choice left winger is very risky. There are currently a lot of holes in his game.

I’m not a Mansour fan but we need some more depth in that position. All our other outside backs are centres, even Kepoa is apparently a centre.

I am hoping Roberts might be considered as a wing option, which helps the issue somewhat.

I don't disagree im pretty sure talau will get first shot people seem to have either forgotten or dismissed him

I see we're back to the days when the media just connects Player A to the Dogs. Do they have 60 roster spots?

I think Talau is a centre, possibly lock in future, for mine there is a real four way battle for our centre spots with nobody assured of starting rd 1 yet

BJ - would love to see him at full fitness
Talau - has shown tackle busting ability
Jet - unknown quantity
Momo - the wildcard

They are the most insane highlights we’ve seen yet. If this signing does become official, I will officially have wood.

My Signing Hopefuls:

1. The Cheese, 3 year deal for 600k a year. But I doubt Storm would release with out a player swap. Put the Dogs front runners who might swap Napa

2. Widdop, I know his age and injuries. Can cover Fullback and 5/8. I would play him at Fullback, doesn’t really have to defend which is good for his shoulders. Great kicking game and can kick goals. Also if Douhei fails at 5/8(I hope he doesn’t) we have options. Mbye back to 1 and Widdop 6. Only offer a 1 year deal for 300k

3. Scott Sorensen, depth back rower who could nearly get a starting position depending on how Garner goes. 2 year deal for 200k

You think the Storm would want Napa? lol They want a quality replacement. Same thing rules us out, we don't have anyone they'd want.

Heard on SEN that STORM want the big second rower back( can't think of his name) that signed for the TITANS if the CHEESE is going to the TITANS

Why want him back? lol

Titans signed him heaps early in the season when he was barely rated. Melbourne probably gutted in the end losing him seeing him carve up towards the back end lol

That's the Storm process - get them young and cheap, hope to retain them if they become as good as you hope.

Storm lose tonnes of players through this strategy, because other teams pick off their emergent players, but Storm are good at having ready-made replacements. Storm hope that their retained core team brings the quality of the others up.

Kelma Tuilagi looks a unit in prevseason photos.
192cms 108 kgs. Will be 22 when season starts.
Plays Second Row. Maybe an upgrade to top team.

Promising but to be honest he won’t have it that easy in the NRL. Some of that defence was non-existent.

He can definitely motor and looks hard to tackle (of course taking into account the opposition)

He was highly rated early in the season and has been for some time, the Titans just threw money at him that the Storm couldn't (or wouldn't) match. Barely rated forwards don't get contracts worth north of $600K per season.

Tino got a 750k a year contract after playing 5 or 6 games the year before. Titans took a punt and looks like it’s paid off. Still think they’d be a bit worried he follows the trend of players that leave Melbourne and go on to be average.

Adam Blair rings a bell. Gun while at Melb, comes to Tigers and was terrible.

Sheens was as much at fault as Blair was,Tim tried to change the way Blair played and it wasnt using his strengths

100% correct.

I would say the Mansour talk is just trying not to burn bridges incase Nofo deal falls through. I don't think we have any intentions in Mansour once he resigns which most people believe he's close to.

I don’t think one relates to the other

Nofoaluma is a right winger
Mansour is a left winger
Both bring the ball back hard
Both solid wingers
And not a bad combination on our edges
I wouldn't be upset getting Mansour at all for a year or 2 max

We dont really have any world class players in our team and I don't think we should be paying a million dollars for one either
A couple of players on the edge of greatness would be good
If Nofoaluma sticks around, and we get Mansour along with the fullback we signed from Penrith or Mbye, I wouldn't mind going real hard for both Crichton and Staggs
That would have to be close to the best back 5 in the Nrl
Then If Doueihi can kick on in the halves with Brooks, our one to seven could be set
Our Front row looks great on paper
We have two quality Hookers to choose from
Only real weakness would be our back row but I think we could find someone from within
Lj has one spot so really just after one more good back rower as we have a little depth in Garner

Crichton and Staggs would end up being just as good if not better than Gasnier and Cooper
Or Ettinghausen and McGraw

They would form a lethal combination

With a swerve and step like that it won't matter if they can tackle; if he is in space it will be all over.

Yep, it's hard though because we don't seem to want to pay overs for players. We could offer Toupinoua 550k for 2022 on a three year deal. Roosters wouldn't match that, at least not officially. Or look at Butcher or Collins

Storm were upset at losing him but offering a 19 year old, who's only played 5 games, over $600k a year is pretty crazy and not something the Storm would ever consider
