I heard rumors that the Chooks aren't satisfied with Crichton given what they're paying him

If reports re: what he’s on are correct (almost $1m) he’s definitely not worth it (can’t think of a forward that is worth that). But he’s still a hell of a player and an elite 2nd rower. Would make a material difference to our team both defensively and in attack. If we could somehow land him we shouldn’t hesitate.

Yeah just cause he’s on crazy money and not worth it doesn’t mean he’s not good. He’s an excellent forward - just needs to be at a more reasonable price.

even if he's overpaid at 800k (which he is) if the roosters chip in 200k (speculation on my part) then surely we get 600k of value out of him for a season before he re-negotiates....

Agreed and I think he would bring the right attitude to our game. You saw the energy he brings, he wont' go to cruise control and I think there is an intensity that will be good if that could infect our team.

With the Chooks, post Boyd Cordner and the head knocks... they just don't need an 800k forward (or 1M forward). We do.
Did anyone else see the first WT vs parramatta game.

Munster is my favourite player but he’s not coming. It’s sad but true

I saw highlights of Simpkin playing cup in Qld.Was scoring pies at ease,quick out of dummy half and knows how to catch the defence napping.Didnt see much of his passing game as I spose you don’t need to pass if you can score them yourself

Yep he carved up Qcup, similar to grant but at a much younger age. Isn’t he only 19 now? so basically he was an 18 year old making blokes 10 years older than him look silly.

He has a really good defensive technique aswell for a young fella

Agreed and I think he would bring the right attitude to our game. You saw the energy he brings, he wont' go to cruise control and I think there is an intensity that will be good if that could infect our team.

I’ve never been Nofos biggest fan and probably never will be, but a right side of Crichton, Jet, Nofo would ask a lot of questions

Makes him a priority signing. If we can squeeze the roosters to pay some baggage even better.

Money won’t matter for 2022 as he’s off contract anyway so we can offer him whatever we see fit

Yep, and I’d consider him a marquee signing. I was gagging for JAC, but Crichton would contribute just as much, given our weakness in that position.

Not true, in 2019 the roosters attack was wildly biased to the left side where Keary and Latrell were. He didn’t play poorly, he just got limited opportunities. Even with that he still averaged 100m a game in attack and was good defensively.

Thought he was good in 2020.

And a good origin series individually.

He’s a free agent in 2022 - we could offer him whatever we felt like. Roosters would only need to pay if he comes early which seems unlikely.
