Abbey’s gone from our squad and I doubt he’ll ever play NRL level with his busted knees

Bit of a weird one, but Stephen Crichton was live on Instagram with some mates late last night. Few of them were reading out questions about him joining the Tigers and Crichton went into awkward silence. Something’s definitely going on behind the scenes I reckon. Crichton had sunnies on and one of his mates read out a question saying “if you have sunnies on you’re joining the Tigers”, his mate took off his sunnies and Crichton went “that ain’t it, that ain’t it”

We’d be silly not to have a chat to the bloke.... we’ve got money and he’s a freak. Plus we’ve got his former captain at the club along with his team mate Laurie coming over

I’d take him. Probably no more than $600K though.

Personally happy to give him more. Freak athlete reminds me of Folau, scary part is he’s got so much more to learn still too. He’s gonna perform for a long time i think

He played almost 'all' of his junior footy at 6.

He has barely played 'any' center.

There won't be a transition.

AD is a 6.

Where he played his junior footy is irrelevant, Curtis Sironen played a lot of his junior footy at 6 as well. He was not a 1st grade 6.

On Doueihi's 1st grade games he played his best footy at centre, he looked very good at 6 but that was only half a game and he has only shown he can pass consistently from left to right. I want to see him develop a spiral pass from right to left and improve his defense before I am convinced he is a 5/8th.

He is a 5/8th, the only question is can he do it at first grade. He did solid at fullback so I’m sure he’ll be fine it’s not like he has to learn the position all over again. His defence in the front line needs work but he’s a solid runner of the footy and has some nice passing, he’ll be on the right edge majority of the game so he won’t really need a consistent long ball to his left.

I like my 5/8th to be able to pass both ways, his passing left to right in the Eels game was outstanding, he now needs to replicate that on a weekly basis and develop the same on the other side.

I'm confident he can develop into a strong 5/8th but he hasn't shown he is a 1st grade 5/8th yet. Hopefully he makes it as we are very short of other options at 6.

He can throw some to the left too just not as consistently. I’m sure they’ll be working on it. He has all the attributes to become a good 5/8, good at busting tackles, nice cutout pass, knows how to draw and pass really well. He knows when to kick too, just hasn’t got the execution right all the time yet

Forget how young he is because of how good his attitude is, seems like a veteran already but still very early twenties plenty of developing left

I like him and think he will develop into a good 5/8th, my original post was his best position at the moment is centre and he still needs to transition into a 5/8th. I stand by this.

At $700,00 he is a bargain, we paid $95000.00 per yr for Mbye. We have 3.. ex panthers,Tamou,Laurie,Bore.He can playFB,centre or wing.Ever club is after him,in this case i would pay overs.

No one really knows until he gets his shot. Big opportunity for him tho

Now that Benji’s moved on I can see Adam and Luke building a balanced attack that exploits both sides of the ruck.

Miracles won’t happen straight away but I think Madge is spot on with giving this combination a crack.

I do too mate, that’s why I’m a big fan of McInnes.

He’d be the perfect conduit between our front and back row.

I would give him the off season, preseason and 1st crack after his suspension but that still doesn't mean he will be a success. He still has huge weaknesses as a 5/8th, but I believe he will overcome those. I'm more worried about the lack of depth below him.
