there is no way that will happen. imo the only way we get Laurie is to take on Mansour. There is no benefit for Penrith to release Laurie.

Yuk...cant stand seeing this Guy in our colours...will surely come only for retirement....we don't another Mbye, Packer, Reynolds player.

Mbye will do the job he is asked to do by Madge,he is versatile,Grub is off on a new path overseas,good luck to him...Packer has been dealt some serious injury to recover from while with us and to his defense,as many bellittle the guy at first opportunity,he came to us when he was playing very good football,he and Mats were working fine,when Ivan ditched us Russ went downhill and got a severe foot injury that took months to recover from,he also wanted to play while being coached by Ivan,thats not his fault and I really want to congratulate him on his academic studies and mentoring our young players on the training paddock....everyone has their own opinion and I stand by mine,its easy to belittle people when you really havent walked a mile in their shoes,its also easy to at least see some good in people that mean
well..

Mansor isnt my choice either,but what ever Madge has in mind he has my support....

Fair enough, but that make Laurie a pretty expensive acquisition. I think your key word is former - we have had enough of them. I'd pay a little more for Nofo, not much though.

I agree. I'd go as far as to say in his time at centre, he has been one of our most consistent backs. In his short time at fullback ***this year*** (he was strangely not tested much under the high ball this year) he looked good and brought into play his excellent passing game.

If Mbye was on $300-400K he would be a fan favourite. Obviously he is not, but IMO when they cross the white line their salary is irrelevant.

Yes we have plenty of outside backs,but none of them high quality unless major improvement this year.I think we need at least 2 more to compliment Laurie in 2022.I expect a lot of player movements to be announced mid year as many good players off contracts this year.It will be a players market and paying overs will be the norm.

Not having a go at you specifically Sleeve, but I keep reading optimistic perceptions of Laurie, and when I read "we need high quality to compliment Laurie", I wonder if everyone here appreciate that he has played 3 NRL games and started in only 1.

I can't remember if Kepoa was playing wing while mbye was at fullback I think he was. If so he was the target of the high balls. I like Kepoa and hopefully the operation that has been mentioned he has had in the offseason gives him confidence when tested this year

If Nofa wants 450-500...and we can get Mansour for 250-300...then you let Nofa walk and do that deal every day of the week.

Nofa is popular, I get that. But his defense is atrocious. I read people here defending him saying "he was outside BJ"...yeah, fair point...except he has been terrible outside 'every' center he has been paired with for 7 years. He can't read overlaps...he is a huge liability defensively. Nofa for 500 is the type of deal teams who don't ever win make. Desperate teams. We are not one of those anymore I hope...

Hartigan seems too smart to let it happen. He is a massive analytics man and all the analytics will tell you Nofa is a liability defensively.

Your right Tiger5150.I can only go buy his raps,and stats,and they are impessive the same as Simkin.I don't like to bag our backline,but even the die hard supporters like me ,know we need change.Average does not make it in the top sides,neither should it at the Tigers.Is there a risk?-OFcourse.We all have our favourites,but some of them are plain average.We must be like Storm and Easts,constantly upgrading there is no room for sentiment in pro sport.
