That website is always writing negative articles about us. I swear they nominate us for the spoon every year , and every year,Usually with a far inferior roster to this years , we hang around the 8.
To me it shows most writers have zero talent evaluation skills . Also , the dragons got dramatically worse , the cowboys did nothing , so did the sharks , who are now without thier only creative spark , manly lost AFB which is a massive loss , Broncos look like us when we had the big 4, huge talents zero team culture. Warriors are now in rebuild mode , finally , the dogs have no forward pack , the eels have no centres , as Jennings was dynamite last year , GC still have no backs ,an average pack , especially when tino goes off , and basically are paying a second rower who will touch the ball 10 times a game 1.2 mil , etc. the only givens really , are the panthers and raiders , as the roosters have a rookie half , and 2 of thier 5 best players are 1 concussion away from the 2GB commentary team , and the storm are missing one of the best players to ever play. See how well that went for the knights, cowboys etc when their great retired .

We are fanatics and in my case obsessed so we tend to be both better informed but at times overly optimistic.

To the outsider the WTs are still largely average with an under performing Half back, an untried 5/8 and a squad where most players would find it hard to crack another top 4 team.

I dont think we should be finishing last.

We are building very well but we are some years away IMHO.

RIFTS REMAIN FROM CLUB'S FIERY PRESO NIGHT
One NRL club has some major healing to do before the start of the comp, after a fiery end-of-season presentation night a couple of months back.

Things got heated between both coaching staff and players as the beers flowed after a frustrating season on and off the field.

It's been anything but smooth sailing in the months since and some rifts remain unresolved.

Unless the 'vibe' improves in coming weeks, the club could face a long season.

You'd say Broncos and Dragons are most likely. Cowboys a possibility too.

On holidays, just caught up on 30 pages. Regarding 2021 arrivals of McInnes, Laurie and Walsh I think I can best sum up my thoughts with, “Damn, thought we had him “.

The scarier thing is injury wise if things went wrong early .....Touch wood ..but losing LL ,Douehi ,Tmou ,Twal etc

4. Wooden Spoon
The poor Wests Tigers, not only will they miss the finals for a tenth consecutive year, but they’ll pick up the wooden spoon along the way. They have some big salaries in Moses Mbye and Russell Packer clogging their cap, a highly rated young brigade with few NRL games between them, a half with 148 games and zero finals appearances, and a lot of inconsistency in the squad. They’ll be the big improvers of 2022, but this will not be their year.

From Jack Blyth , zero tackle..

Cant wait till he's proven wrong..

Strange logic from Jack Blyth? We had Moses Mbye and Rusty Packer in the squad last year and were at the top end of the bottom 8. OK, sure our wingers are shorter than our 5/8 and we have a young squad but we also have new and improved leadership.
I think Broncos and Bulldogs will fight it out for the spoon. It’s gonna take a while to fix the Broncos shipwreck while the Dogs will have defensive issues, particularly out wide.
I hope we’re also underestimated by other clubs.

Yea its a pretty big call - i would put us in a group of about 7 teams that could all potentially get the spoon. Personally i think its between Saints and Cronulla. Throw us in the mix with Warriors, Dogs, Cowboys and Broncos.

What about Manly, they lost one of, if not the best forwards in the comp and replaced him with JA who is ordinary.Plus J and T Toboyderic when he plays carry the sideTommy is brilliant but always injured and Jakes starting to look burnt out playing above his weight.

Big thing for Manly will be Fainu ...not sure what his court case situation is ..but if they get him back ....good player

He knived a bloke mate . It’s hard to see him being back anytime soon , he’s gonna be doing well not to do a stint , let alone play footy any time soon .
Still, if that muppet from the broncos can find his way back in , anyone can .

Lot of muppets at the Broncos ...next Muppet Movie will be based at Red Hill

Yea true
They could have signed a new muppet
The way you were carrying on earlier you would have got a start

Could be the slimeys - led the comp for 9 weeks - it was their year for the taking. Finished 3rd and bombed out with 2 losses in the semis. The dummy spitters didn't really live up to expectations and then Jennings got booted for drug cheating. Top that off with one of their star signings for 2021 being Jordan Rankin and i would think a few players would have had plenty to say with a few under their belt.

Cowboys ...Josh and josh ...Josh even told me ...another Josh lol

My quote is note working but BB mentioned Reece Walsh and Daine Laurie. Both are super talents and both could play 5/8 or fullback. With the speed of the game, both would be devastating. You can never have enough players of this talent and utlity in a squad.

Utility should be a dirty word considering our success with multi-positional players over the past couple years. But Reece Walsh would be a really good pickup, bit of AJ Brimson about him real jack-in-a-box type fullback.

Yea , I just think people let thier bias’ cloud thier judgement .
For example ; I used to listen to the 5th and last podcast , but started to get really irritated at the guy who hosts it , the younger brother . He claimed to have extensive knowledge of teams , then he would proceed to get basic facts wrong , misinterpret information , and just generally have uninformed opinions on a lot of things . His brother , on the other hand , would only comment on what he knew , and seemed very pragmatic , if at times I didn’t agree with him , which is fine .
My point is , these guys have a platform , and are actually coaches , and generally educated within the game . And still they got many things wrong .
There just are so many guys with platforms , who honestly have no idea , whether it be click bait , sensationalism , or just stupidity .
And that podcast is definitely one of the better ones .

Most of our prominent new signings would be starters in top 4 teams - James Roberts, Tamou, Joe Offa. We've strengthened considerably compared to last year.
