The fact Wigan almost got beaten by minnow Leigh last night I would think would make them even more reluctant to let Hastings go.

I think we might get him next year but I will be very surprised if he plays for us this season.

Unless he has a get out clause if an nrl club comes knocking I’m not sure if he does or not but it could be possible

That would be absurd. Literally half their cap on a handful of outside backs. Zero depth, average pack, average halves, and a whole lot of mercenaries on 700k+

Honestly they have recruited well.
The part that will fail them is Trent Barrett. He is another Jason Taylor although with people skills. But same sort of 1dimension planning that Siebold did at the Broncos

Yes agree, I don’t see the attraction for players in having Trent Barrett as their coach. He’s a good assistant, but has done sfa as a head coach, same as Taylor. Still, he sure can lure them, I’ll give him that. Maybe he’ll get enough marquee players built into the Dogs team they’ll be able to coach themselves, much like the rep sides.

No, though I don't read every comment or every thread. However as this is a discussion forum, considering the way the team has started the season and given he is our chief playmaker I would expect the majority of discussion to be about him. Wouldn't you?

Hastings not in the Wigan team this morning.

Did they say why maybe due to no preseason??

The coach said they wanted to give him another week training before joining team.. He also said he would be on the field running drinks out for the boys.. Don't get excited as it looks more like next year not this year if he comes.

You are correct, he has plenty of mates, but he was bad last year, and he has got worse

Yeah me too. The only problem is the WT have shown time and time again that when the opposition are missing star players it weakens us not them.

Talk of Michael Morgan might have to get medically retired might be a bit more desperate to get Brooks up there now. I don’t know how keen we’d be to shift him this season even if we do get Hastings he’s no certainty to be any better than Brooks.
