1. Reynolds is a no go. Chronic injury, getting old (i.e. retirement contract) and isn't a stand out at a great team. Red flags everywhere. Did we learn nothing from McQueen?
2. Oates can't even get a run in Brisbane and you think he'll be good for us? Very lazy winger who's often out of position - just what we don't need.

We should go after some hard working, solid players. Jeez Corey Thompson and Paul Momorovski would be nice to have right now. So glad we got rid of two hard working, high effort players for what we have now

In fairness we did swap Momo for Laurie who is one of few hard working and talented players we have. Should never had let Thompson go though, he was good in just about every game he played for us.

But the JTJ / BJ gamble hasn’t worked and now we find ourselves needing 2 centre’s. I still have faith JTJ can come good as for sticking around next year who knows

Would it have really hurt our chances looking back now to wait until 2022 before we got our hands on Laurie? That way we could have both.

What about wingers ? Do you think we have 2 good wingers ?

Our 2-5 are abysmal

I had high hopes for Talau
He’s crap as well ?
Kepeoa sucks big time
Jimmy the helicopter ?..crap
Nuffoaluza .. Diabolical

I actually reckon Talau can end up a semi decent winger ... definitely not a centre though

Played ok against the cowgirls apart from one crucial dropped bomb

The rest are chumps

I actually think he is not a winger and is a poor selection on the wing. He is a bench player who is transitioning to the back row.

Far too slow to play wing

From the western weekender

I'd take just about anyone at this point in time. Even coke-head. BJ is showing no signs of wanting to be here/playing well enough to be wanted here so his spot will be up for grabs between now and whenever he rides off into the sunset sometime this year. What the hell happened to him last week?...even on the replay it looked like he hardly copped a head knock at all yet he missed nearly all of last week and this week as well. Reminded me of Jackson Kaufusi years ago for WT telling the trainer he wanted to come off the field because "I have a headache".
Our club accommodates softness quite happily.

BJ jumped for Brookes’ cross field kick, that resulted in our first try. When he landed on his back - in goal, he copped a kick in the head from a Cowboys player covering in the in goal area. Go Weststigers!

WHY STAR FORWARD KNOCKED BACK TIGERS

Rabbitohs forward Jai Arrow has revealed he considered a move to the Wests Tigers before ultimately signing with South Sydney.

The 25-year-old joined the Bunnies this season on a four-year deal but told NRL.comthat while he was with the Titans he “spoke to a few clubs” and the Tigers were one of them.

Tigers coach Michael Maguire flew up to the Gold Coast to meet with the Queensland Origin forward but Arrow says it was the Rabbitohs’ star power as well as a chance to reunite with coach Wayne Bennett and assistant Jason Demetriou that lured him to the club.

“No disrespect to the Tigers, but the proud history of Souths and obviously Wayne Bennett and the coaching staff here is second-to-none. Being back with Wayne and Jason Demetriou helped,” he said of the coaching duo he spent time with at the Broncos earlier in his career.

“The squad and the class of the players here was an attraction.”

**And this is why we don't attract the cream....**

I'm sure his weekend with Papa Russ at Nanna Glen had nothing to do with it, nor the probability that he came home from said weekend with a suitcase full of cash.

To be fair though. If you were offered $500k to join Souths under Bennett, or $500k to join WT under Madge, you'd join Souths every day of the week.

Nah
I’d join West’s Tigers and I’d get to bludge for the same amount !
Get put into reserve grade .. bludge even more and go eat pizza with Packer and have a laugh ?

You could probably even sneak off to a portion of the field with big Russ and have a sword fight

You’ve got issues ?
?

I'll take that as a compliment

I agree, and they can land a good player who is sought by a few clubs, as soon as another club enters the market, we lose out, it is becoming embarrassing, and no one seems to be able to rectify it

Anyone who thinks we will succeed with Madge at this point is kidding themselves.
The players don't want to play for him.

Even when he talks in Interviews he seems very short and abit of a grump who doesn't have any answers.
I dont think he will ever get the best out of players cause his tactics are predictable and everyone is scared to make any freestyle plays of what's Infront of them.

Look at teams like dragons and titans, sharks etc, even warriors last year with Payton. they were hopeless than they got smart coaches who create plays that compliment everyone's talents.

They all love their coach and believe in their game plans so play with pride.

I also seriously think Brooks needs to be a running 5/8 or be released,
Doueihi back to centre with Jimmy the jet on wing or dropped.
Get a specialist half like Reynolds. (He won't want to come but wishful thinking)

I think it’s the other way around tbh. I don’t think Madge wants some of these players playing for him. A coach won’t make any difference we have a club issue poor historic recruitment and retention and a poor list. Players make coaches not the other way around. Very few exceptions perhaps BellamyZ

I have sat patiently waiting for an improvement in our game and strategy. I am not expecting us to win but to at least play positive football even in defeat. This has not happened, quite the opposite. We play a predictable and boring style. The so called dumbing down of our game must kill the spirit of our more senior players who have played under good coaches. It certainly destroys my faith in Maguire.

I’m just expecting us to tackle. This is on the players the coach can’t help them unless he can replace them. Our attack with Douihei in at 5/8 is vastly improved. It’s not our dilemma it’s defence.

Thing is he was offered 800k to go to Souths. The only way we could get him with our squad is with $1mil, which is way too much.

Karmichael Hunt looking likely to take broncs last top 30 spot. Would think it ends the Billy Walters to Broncs talk.

He's on a train and trial contract for now. Would be highly unlikely he'll get a top 30 gig this year.

And if we're doing a player swap then it doesn't have an impact either.

Corey Oates plays tonight.... He will have a blinder and hold his spot and there goes that idea....
We needed to make the Walters swap with him done already but it might be too late.

I don't think we have 1 good winger.

Nofo is great but he is limited.

Been really poor this season after his big contract year ! Another 2 years of bad bad defensive reads

Believe it or not, we're not that far off. It's a good squad. The one thing that stood out on Sunday was the lack of communication. I watched them closely and no one is talking. I'd swap Laurie with Douhei and tell him to take charge. He's got it as a footy player and he's the only talker in the team.
