With GIldart, Maumalo and Hastings signed but Packer, BJ and likely Mbye leaving plus a few hundred k left over this yr it feels like even with some upgrade for younger blokes we have money for a BIG name

Any ideas what we are still looking for (preferably who) but im interested in what psoitions we are still trying to fill

No to Woods

Looking for a big $$ 2nd rower preferably.
Plenty of movement for not off contract players.
Plenty still to play out, Issac Liu is a target but will be tough to pry him away from Roosters, Finucane’s asking price a bit much & likely a shark.

Well he makes less errors then JAC or t'oo and i read an article last night on fastest players at each club from 2019 and Maumalo was the fastest over the first 10m whuch is the most essential to be fastest over.

His defence coukd be said to be his weak point but as we have seen with our players thats often structure as much as anything else.

His best footy was after spending an offseason touring with Madge where he talked about doing extras every day working in his catching with Madge - this is a guy who likes hard work abd Madge

Addo Carr finds his pace more useful than once every ten games.

Possessing genuine pace allows a new dimension in attack such as spreading the ball wide when clearing the ball from near your line as Bellamy's team has been doing. It also facilitates attacking kicks to allow players with genuine pace to follow through as we saw in SOO last year. Finally and most importantly, fast players provide a new dimension in defence not that we would know much about that with the dirty hit up obsession and lack of backline pace..

Pace is definitely important but I think he's talking about specifically being fast over 100 metre, really doesn't get used much. Being fast over about 40 metres is what's important, pure acceleration. That's what makes JAC, Saab and Roberts so dangerous they go from 0 to top speed in an instant

I think To’o is really good all around. A top player

He is one of the class players in the comp. His no 1 asset is his hit-ups. To'o, Tommy T and Latrell showed they were guys who can make a difference to the teams they represent.

I'd love to have To'o on our left wing. It'd be a game changer.

So Ken Maumalo it is then ? Hmmm that turned out better than I thought . I like Isaako and DWZ but both had flashes in the pan early , and thier price tag is way too high , maybe not this year or next , but eventually they would be on overs .

The only negative , is commitment issues with Ken . Pretty sure he went home early , or never returned to the NRL in covid , and wants out now . It probably is all justified , but I’d definitely be kicking the tyres first .

Coaches should fix defensive issues.

I honestly think nofo should have got picked last year. He was a deadset beast
Brian to’o has been a notch better than nofo was last year but he is also in a far better team if nofo was in panthers side he would look just as good I reakon (on last years form not this years)
