Finucane is still holding out hope that the Storm can offer him a deal. He has indicated that he would take unders to stay. However, if he does leave the Storm then Newcastle are the likely destination.

Isaac Liu is the most likely target at this point. The Roosters do have a bit of room to work now with cordner retiring and are working on re-signing Tupou and Morris. They may be able to retain Liu, but he would likely be stuck on the bench. There is also a belief at the club, and other clubs that a few players might become available at seasons end.

Harley Smith-Shields looks to be a done deal.

The fact our only likely target for next year is Liu who is supposedly all but done at the Titans is a massive worry.

Lots of time left to sign players, and actually the market seems to only be getting bigger during the offseason. Tigers have for several years been holding back some salary cap to see what happens in the offseason, when clubs take stock and try to right-size their rosters.

We’ll find out. He’s a local Raiders’ junior so remaining with the Raiders could have been taken for granted. Kris, Timoko and Savage are a pretty talented trio.

Canberra have an incredible amount of untapped talent. Xavier Savage is going to be a star. Timoko is unbelievably strong. guys like Hudson Young and Emre Guler are lucky to make the bench of their first grade side. Starling has bided his time but is about to unseat Hodgson as their starting 9. Kai O'Donnell is a serious prospect. Smith-Shields himself is a very good centre in his own right.

Savage was signed by the Roosters. A Qld Under Age 100m sprint champion. O'Donnell is also a Qlder. The Raiders appear to recruit heavily from Qld?

Credit where credit is due to the club on keeping funds available as it seems to pay off. I think if we can get a win or 2 in the next month it will help ease the pressure as well.

Considering the not good fit comment re TPJ one could conclude that we were looking at him for a back row position for experience but have determined that his output / value doesn’t weight up. Sironen is what 27-28 and has spent the past 4 years as a form backrower of the comp.
as mentioned I’d be looking at him or Fitzgibbon but I’d probably lean to Siro, he might come a bit cheaper returning ‘home’ and I think he has been under a better system at Manly then Fitz has been at Newcastle.

Think Curtis would be a good signing. We need a left edge backrower. Has been injured this yr but played 40 games in last 2 yrs before that and only 28.

Personally think we are still missing a 1st play prop. Twal and Tamou are both 2nd play props. I would be interested in Klemmer who is only 27, averaging 170m a match and only Payne Hass makes more post contact meters
And he has a 97% tackle effectiveness.

Mitch Barnet is a gun. Would love to see him with us. Not sure what his contract is or how devoted he is to the Knights.

Notice all the top sides recruit SPEED !

Koro, JAC, Paps - you don't lose players of that calibre (at least the good clubs don't).

Just consider for a second that Storm is at the moment the very best side, but they've in effect lost 2 out of that 3. Koro went to Union, Jac has been on the way out the door for a while now.

We did drop the ball in losing them definitely, but some of the best teams do too.

Fair enough. It would be a signing where the output will increase beyond the value but Ill take what your saying I don’t watch him closely enough but he did have a good reputation a few year back.
