I'm waiting for the headline tomorrow on Fox and DT so say that Jaydn Su'a rejected us and chose the Dragons... I don't even think we offered him anything but we will get a mention.

Last night on NRL 360 they were talking about Sua , George Burgess and Brown signing mini contracts to play for St George over the 3-4 weeks ......

so the club who had those idiots will not suffer at all? I know it is not the clubs fault that they broke restrictions but the club has to be held accountable too... sorry I am an ignoramus as I don't read the news much, I am only interested in what I read in this forum anything related to our club or the NRL in general. :man-shrugging:

So with all the transfer news happening around the league (* Tigers excluded of course) we have about 3 weeks to complete the 30 man roster for the 1st Aug deadline.
I would ask if they is anyone out there but our recruitment speaks volumes so the question is who are we going to promote internal ?
I believe we have 2 spots left to fill but correct me if I'm wrong.

Good news is, if we become the Brisbane Tigers

If we become the Anything other than Wests Tigers...

I am outta here. That's final.

yep - if you take out the 'Wests' from Wests Tigers it is disrespectful to all the former Western Suburbs supporters. And I was a previous Balmain supporter.

Totally agree ...the club is respnsible for it's players actions no matter what happens good ,bad or indifferent

Funny when we lost Field and McGuinness this wasn't made available .....

If Ogden & Mavoni are that good they should go straight to KOE cup Make them use to playing against the big boys. That's what Penrith do as soon as your good enough you go up the grades pretty quickly, Unlike here it takes eons.

Mavoni only has 5 minutes in him before he's gassed.

I would have thought Sione Tupou is ahead of him.

Close one. Mavoni is destructive but needs to work on his fitness. Combination of more strength and cardio will do him wonders - depends how much he can improve over the next pre-season.

Does your source knows if Liam Scolari is part of the club’s plans? Thanks

Not sure sorry.

needs a massive pre-season to work on his motor. if he can do that, anything is possible.

I don't understand Liddle he has all the same attributes as Cook but just can't put it together. I'd be seeing if south's need cap room and throwing an offer Cooks way.

He's running more which is good just needs to fix his passing and reduce his errors

Along with the other 16.

Not sold on Su'a, he's played some good footy but has gone off the boil lately, been dropped because he wasn't playing good enough. Hits hard but has errors in him, doesn't make a heap of metres running the footy and doesn't score much either.

He's one of Bennett's favourites and Wayne has dropped him, that speaks volumes IMO. Not opposed to it but don't think he will be anymore than a 'decent' signing, obviously happy to be proven wrong.

I don’t mind Sua but he’s definitely a bit of an Aldi TPJ

Agreed. TPJ is way more damaging and Su'A can't read defence for his life.

His big hit (which half the time he shoulder charges and gets penalised for anyway) is all he's got.

Koloamatangi is a lot better (but contracted til end of '23).

Yeah I mentioned Keloamatangi 2 years ago

Very good backrower.

Been told by Forum MOD's we wont sign him because the majority of the Forum won't be able to spell his name ...same reason we eventually lost Seamanufangai and will lose Utoikamani ...how Nofoaluma passes this standard just buggers me ..and he is crap .....

Reminds me of joseph...ratuvatuceriuvalu , ik i probabky spelled that wrong lol

Wonder what happened to him, think i saw something online about him playing for dolphins in isc

Definitely the same reason .....we just need to all focus on Maybe's , Tarmoo's, Knofarllooma's , Tooloo 's, Laylooa's , Cfarts , Mickaelys spelling and we will become a top 8 side ..add whoever you like ....

Mate R U belted mornings and night both?

we need to sign another winger. Kepaoa has shown that he's far better at centre, Talau is slower than a wet week and we all know about Nofoaluma. Isaac Lumelume would be one I'd be looking at. well and truly down the pecking order at Melbourne and a far better option than what we have in our top 30 right now besides Maumalo. yes we have Fitzgibbon and Gebbie on the books but both of them are a long way away from being NRL standard.

How soon we forget we just signed the NRLs slowest winger on 300 odd a year. As long as Maguire is coach, the wings won’t change

I am sorry we did not get Pengai, but obviously the club set it's limits on his value, as it should. We do have a very promising forward pack, that may eventually be a very good pack, but our biggest problem is exactly what your getting at,
our lack of speed;;;; Outside of Brooks and a still learning Laurie, we are too slow compaired to other sides. Gildart may add some attacking flair, and Hastings will help, but we need at least another three fast backs to be competative.

I’d argue that our biggest issue is lack of defence, not speed.

I don't mind the Maumalo signing. he can finish in the corner and makes plenty of metres out of his own end. he needs a pacey centre next to him though to ensure we've got speed down that left flank. the signing of Gildart may well address that.

M'Bye, Liddle and Roberts are pretty quick in their own right, but I do agree with you. Nofoaluma isn't quick at all, Doueihi isn't either and we're about to sign Jackson Hastings as a 6, who is incredibly slow. Gildart looks reasonably quick, but apart from him and Laurie, our first choice back 5 next year looks slow as. I don't think this backline is out of the question though, moving forward.

1 Laurie
2 Fitzgibbon
3 Smith-Shields
4 Gildart
5 Maumalo
6 Doueihi
7 Brooks
14 Hastings
