So does anyone know why we haven't announced our 30th signing for 2021, given the deadline was on Sunday?

Tuilagi upgraded

And the rest of the cash?
Or is that still being sorted out with a potential release of a contracted player

They would be frontloading contracts.

guys - if we are still talking about whether brooks is good enough after 7 years or whatever it is - it's fair to say he hasnt lived up to the mark - "for whatever reason". you can look at stats all day long. tackles made, missed, try assists, run meters etc.

I actually think Luke isn't that bad a player - in saying that I dont think he is a great player.

The problem with Luke is that you can run all the stats you like - but like Tom Brady when he was being scouted and had the worst stats around at the college combine try-outs - Luke doesn't instill heart, motivation, or inspiration in the team.

That's not to say he isnt a good player. He just doesn't have it in him to win at all costs. Not many people do. Brooks would probably be great in a top 6 team where he isn't in the top 6 players at the club.

But if we think he is taking us to the promised land as a leader - forget it - he is Jarred Mullen 2.0 - we are better waiting until his reign at the tigers is done and in 5 years we watch replays on Fox and remember how buggered we were when he was playing but at least those days are behind us. (unfortunately)

You're assuming this?

Would be a horrible indictment on our recruitment team of they have hundreds of thousands of dollars up their sleeve and can't find a single player in the world to join us. For the 3rd year in a row. You can't keep front loading contracts, every year you front load is a year you admit failure. It only works if you then sign a big name on big bucks the following year with the cash you saved. Which we never do...

Promoting someone already in our first team is just adds insult to injury

And they're so ashamed with their complete and abject failure they've refused to announce this?

Blake Austin has signed with the Leeds Rhinos.
1 year deal, 2022. Linking up with his best mate Aiden Sezar.

Well we’re about to bring back an ex coach we sacked so why not bring back an ex captain who sacked us?

Woods > Tamou

Club can’t get a signing and no one wants Woods. Perfect match. It will get done, another unwanted over the hill signing that we are famous for…..bring it on

If Sheens doesn’t block this we’re in strife.

He ran straight head first when sheens coached him. It’s a bad move on many fronts.

So similar to Tamou it’s not funny. We need impact and mongrel and it needs to be on the edges.

Sign Mikaele and don’t let Tuifua go to another club. Woods was a key cog in where we are today he was captain and bailed.

Mate, I am pretty sure Tuifua just signed with the Bulldogs for 3 years. May be wrong but sure someone confirmed it on here.

Niel Henry, coaches a great style that has become more relevant in todays game than ever before, NRL experience (Raiders, Cowboys & Titans) assistant coach to the Maroons since 2008, current coach of the Junior Roos, Nrl coaching consultant, not a bad bloody resume.
I wanted him to coach us ahead of Madge, I thought I was right then, now I'm 110% he should have been our coach. The bloke just doesn't talk about culture and accountability, he is regarded as the best tactical mind in the NRL, hasn't won a premiership but is a two time NRL coach of the year and most importantly appears to be a damn good human.

Henry had a massive fall out with the players at Titans and also struggled to get their attack going. He'd be a good assistant for sure, not sure he would handle head coach

I'm all in favour of a different direction with coaching but I think I would only replace Madge with either Bellamy or Bennett. Bellamy's resigned so either Bennett or we let Madge see out his current contract. Nothing changes then we get Sheens to have a look around and see what's available. Toovey would be similar to Madge, Flanagan not that appealing. Always like Elliot and he knows his footy but too long away from coaching now and prob wouldn't want the challenge.
It would have to be an up and comer like maybe Ciraldo? Idk who else is out there. English coach?

I think that equally important as any signings for 2022 (Brandon Smith No 1 target, Centres No 2 & No 3) is the potential exits on top of the known/likely ones of Packer, MCK, Walters, BJ & possibly Roberts. I'd lean to keeping Jimmy if its not too much money as I'd like to see the club help him through his issues. I think it would reflect well on the club to show some compassion to his circumstances and shows a commitment to the indigenous players links we are trying to build

In terms of potential additional exits I'm looking to the negative influences within the team. If for example Nofo is a negative influence, and I don't know that he is it's just an example, then he should go even if we ended up paying $100k or so for him to go elsewhere. It may involve a little short term pain but I'd think it would be best in the medium to longer term

I don't know who they are or even if there are any but the club certainly would know and I'd back their removal as it can only be a negative to the squad and a hand brake on any significant improvement in 2022 and beyond

I'd also make Douehi captain and consider Robbie for a potential assistant coaching role to put someone closer to the age of the playing group into the coaching mix
