I joke about Woods but at the end of the day he easily makes our team. Our forward back is wildly overrated on here.

Agreed. He still averages more meters per game than all of our forwards bar Twal.

So did Tamou before he got here. In saying that, I do think for the right price he could be useful.

If it's a choice between Woods and re-signing someone like Amone, I'd pick Woods. We need players who can play big minutes and not fall apart.

I think he could be a good replacement for Aloiai mowing the grass at 2040 - he loves the grass so much he still has the stains on his his backside from going backwards.

Niel Henry, coaches a great style that has become more relevant in todays game than ever before, NRL experience (Raiders, Cowboys & Titans) assistant coach to the Maroons since 2008, current coach of the Junior Roos, Nrl coaching consultant, not a bad bloody resume.
I wanted him to coach us ahead of Madge, I thought I was right then, now I'm 110% he should have been our coach. The bloke just doesn't talk about culture and accountability, he is regarded as the best tactical mind in the NRL, hasn't won a premiership but is a two time NRL coach of the year and most importantly appears to be a damn good human.

I'm all in favour of a different direction with coaching but I think I would only replace Madge with either Bellamy or Bennett. Bellamy's resigned so either Bennett or we let Madge see out his current contract. Nothing changes then we get Sheens to have a look around and see what's available. Toovey would be similar to Madge, Flanagan not that appealing. Always like Elliot and he knows his footy but too long away from coaching now and prob wouldn't want the challenge.
It would have to be an up and comer like maybe Ciraldo? Idk who else is out there. English coach?

I'm not really interested in Bennett

Bennett always causes devestation behind him when he leaves a club.He would be the last bloke i would want at WT.

He's leaving Souths this year.
Do you see any "devastation " there?

You will - be patient.

I see nothing in Amone.

He had no off season, coming off acl, could br better with a full off season. He has the right body type but needs to up his game in training and fitness.

Still only 24 - not that old for a prop. Not all young props are like Haas. Most don't hit their straps till about 26.

think this time around is different because he's leaving Demetriou there and he has enough respect for him not to bomb the joint. Brisbane, St George and Newcastle obviously speaks to his track record, but Souths have put a proper succession plan in place this time around. wouldn't have him at WT though, he'd completely ruin the place in order to try and win one more.

Does anyone stop to think that clubs may go backwards after he leaves simply because he isn't there anymore? Can you give him any credit for his success?
If he did bring temporary success that'd do me. He'd also bring respect and credibility with him.

We should trade Stefano to bring Sharon home. We deserve a Tamou/Sharon front row. If we are really lucky we might even get Moses and Teddy back in about ten years time to help Brooks' development to one day become a real halfback. Think of the hat sales. This club is a joke.

Don't want to hide behind a down vote - I've read some rubbish on here, let me just say in an Olympic Year, you win the gold medal.

Yeah, now I could be mistaken, but I'm fairly certain the bloke was being sarcastic. I know it's hard to tell sometimes but this time it's pretty well obvious.

We’ll be saying the same thing about Stefano when he’s had another 40 games and at age 23.

I would have preferred Bellamy but I think if I had a choice, I would take Bennett over Madge

Bennett seems to really enjoy a club imploding after he leaves. He would attract players, but he would be chasing short term glory and I really don't think he would care about the long term future of the club.

Maybe a long term deal. Coach as long as he wants then transition into a director/consultant role.

In the case of the Broncos, I don't blame him. The club management there own the absolutely woeful performances in the seasons since.

guys - if we are still talking about whether brooks is good enough after 7 years or whatever it is - it's fair to say he hasnt lived up to the mark - "for whatever reason". you can look at stats all day long. tackles made, missed, try assists, run meters etc.

I actually think Luke isn't that bad a player - in saying that I dont think he is a great player.

The problem with Luke is that you can run all the stats you like - but like Tom Brady when he was being scouted and had the worst stats around at the college combine try-outs - Luke doesn't instill heart, motivation, or inspiration in the team.

That's not to say he isnt a good player. He just doesn't have it in him to win at all costs. Not many people do. Brooks would probably be great in a top 6 team where he isn't in the top 6 players at the club.

But if we think he is taking us to the promised land as a leader - forget it - he is Jarred Mullen 2.0 - we are better waiting until his reign at the tigers is done and in 5 years we watch replays on Fox and remember how buggered we were when he was playing but at least those days are behind us. (unfortunately)

Who is better that is available and you can put in his place?

Henry had a massive fall out with the players at Titans and also struggled to get their attack going. He'd be a good assistant for sure, not sure he would handle head coach

Henry fell out with Hayne and until that poser turned up, the Titans were fan favorites and in the finals. They played a scrappy complete for every minute and every play attitude that I wish we did.
