Does seem abit odd considering we only have 6 spots in our top 30 left and Mikaele/Seyfarth are still off contract.

If we keep all 3 then there’s only 3 spots available for new recruits.

We need far more then that.

Isn't Madden's contract done this year as well, presumably he will take a spot as well

I'd still have a go for him, especially if the squad is going to be rejigged with some extra players tapped on shoulder. I believe Brooks and Tamou are in their sights with Mbye also gone. Hastings for Brooks and Woods for Tamou, leaving a good all rounder needed for utility. I'd go for either Watson or Peachey. Can't see MCK being offered new contract but I sure miss Elijah Taylor.

Just above plodder status for me. Runs around alot, looks like he is doing heaps but really doing very little.
Like Mbye, can play a number of positions but none well.
Also I've noted, he is a big "one out" player, doesn't pass the ball too often, but have learnt from Mann.
I wouldn't give him a second look. The best thing for us about him is that the Knights have him Demps.

We have 6 spots left for 2022 in a squad that’s going to come bottom 4 with not a single proven first grader coming in. Giving one of those 6 spots to MCK is complete Lunacy

I see what you're saying, two sides to the coin though.

We're not breaking the bank for him and he is a good squad/depth player.

We missed out on Atoni who wouldve been an upgrade, but we're not relying on MCK to win us a comp.....

There's a bigger picture plan here and it's not to win the comp now or next year but put us in a place where we are successful long term. Dark days ahead though but is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Fingers crossed the light at the end of the tunnel isn't a train hurtling towards us at full speed.

Was totally against it when mentioned last time he was contracted by the Knights although I think he has improved since then by adding some bulk. Just not sure how he would fit in... although he does have footy nous which should be a caveat on any signing we make for a while so we can improve our footy IQ across the field.
So I guess that's a maybe yes, from me but not as a saviour just as a worthy #14 if Hastings is not pencilled in for that role...

I'm totally on board with signing the right mentality/footy IQ when we make contract offers. It's really important for us to progress, at this point in time.

Talk of Brooks being off loaded have come up again I can not see WT'S doing this particularly lnow with Mbye being let go a year early his contract is around $900k and we are expected to contribute to his last year.
Brooks is off contract 2023 and his contract is around $850k
If the BS is true for 2022 we would be paying what is basically a marquee player contract price for two players to play for someone else.
The WTS players off contract 2023 are listed below from Zero Tackle something I picked up today if you highlight the players name it will bring up details of their contract price break up
