Listening to Brad Arthur this morning when interviewed was interesting. Basically, he said results will determine his future and he knows if he side does not produce he is gone. I admire his honesty.

I saw the interview on NRL 360 last night, he was owning all the sides issues, how refreshing

And the Eels holding him to account. The standard you walk past ............................................

You do realise that under Arthur in their first 3 years they finished 10th 12th 14th ....without mentioning results in 2018

3 years and he will be gone if this keeps going. Maguire should have been gone months ago when it is clear to everyone except the rusted ons that our team is going backwards. Arthur did not make excuses.

So the Eels holding him to account after nearly 10 seasons... for someone who is anti Maguire the standards the Eels have set for Arthur was probably not the best comparison.

Bring back dwyer. One armed he could still hit harder than some of these clowns

Big shame he got injured. Was a great young player. Upsets me to still see his arm in a sling in the coaches box

He was awesome. Such a shame.

I think he would have been one of the premier second rowers in the comp

Parramatta got progressively worse when Brad Arthur joined - 10th, 12th, 14th (10th was an improvement from wooden spoon). Eels kept Arthur on, he then got 4th and another wooden spoon. That's no finals 4/5 seasons. In the 6th season he got them to the finals for a 2nd time.

Brad Arthur had no previous head coaching experience in Australia or England, so you couldn't even give him the benefit of his track record.

Brad Arthur is in fact the poster child for giving a coach a decent tenure in order to ultimately produce some results. If Eels handled Arthur like you are proposing we do Madge, the bloke would have been cut at the end of 2016.

I think we can all agree..... we just all need a bit of signing news to lift our spirits. Doesn't matter what it is but just some news.
For me Mbye granted early release and off to Dragons... Not a signing but good news
I am confident we will get some announcement in the coming 4 months. :face_with_rolling_eyes:

I don’t believe brown is better at all, and he’s not even a game managing half…which is what we desperately need

I think Brown is the second biggest myth in league behind charlie staines....no way would I trade brooks for him. All he does is dummy and run. such a dud....

but I think if we can grab one of these roosters like Egan then I really like how our forward pack is progressing.

Hope you are right about Mbye but he was quoted on Fox the other day that he doesn't know where he will be next year.

Every single coach says that. They know if they don't get the results that ultimately their days will be numbered. Nothing groundbreaking about that.

The standard that they get held to may vary depending on the stature and success of the club. Making the top 8, top 4, grand finals etc

Hope you are right about Mbye but he was quoted on Fox the other day that he doesn't know where he will be next year.

So with that attitude and willingness to publicly state it...he'll be TOTALLY committed to the WTs for the remainder of his contract

Of course he has. You don't have to like Madge, but there has to be some even-handedness about how you handle him.

Dwyer was a devastating loss. He was going to take over from Ellis as a mainstay, cornerstone of our pack. He’s 32 this year and could have still been playing at the end of what would have been a celebrated career.
