Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Maybe him & Curtis Scott , they mite fire us up a bit

Because they punched on at a function?
Would add some mongrel to the team I suppose.

There are actually a couple of decent halves still off contract tbh. Given how weak we are in the halves I wouldn't be against the idea of bringing in Tanah Boyd or Sean O'Sullivan to compete with who we have. Tanah Boyd has something about him. I think he's a player that still has a lot of improvement to come.

nothing left to buy maybe make a dip again for lomax with St George that's it. Frontload Stef and Laurie otherwise

And Luciano

I hope he's extended soon. From November first other teams can talk to him

Luciano is a bigger defensive liability than he is an attacking asset.

Either he plays less minutes (heaven only knows why they try play him 80)

Or he Gets a lot fitter.

How can you not see he is the starting problem for the defensive issues in our centres and wing. Rather than reply go and watch a few highlights and watch how often his attacking opposite
gets on his outside. To that add how many times he gets sucked into the middle and is too tired to recover.

Bateman would be sensational but wouldn't be short on suitors.

First thought is Cordner replacement for the chooks

Are the people advocating for Bateman the same people bagging the Hastings signing?

Hastings plays a different position but looks head and shoulders above his teammates which includes Bateman.

I’d pass on Bateman for that reason.

I’d love to have Bateman. Enforcer in the back row who is mobile and skilful. Exactly what we need but would have a fair few clubs chasing him.

I wouldn’t be chasing props/middle forwards. We already have a heap of those. Elliot from the dogs might be a decent backup if he gets the sack. Wouldn’t cost a lot and can add some more mobility and skill to the pack but obviously comes with some risk.

For next season we need 2 centres, a winger, a middle, a second rower and a half (due to AD)

We'll sign Tyrone Peachey. Lock it in.

I hope so... Do you know something or just on the wish list.

anyone watch trent robinsons post match conference? Dear lord he rinses Henry Perenara

Sure did. He didn’t miss did he. Robbo handles himself so well in press conferences. I can see why the players put it every week for him, he’s definitely got their backs.

54 - 12. Robbo is learning what it's like to coach a team under the salary cap. Loved his presser but his team got beat convincingly because they didn't have the number of superstars he is use to, and the other team did. Welcome to our world.

54-12 with a team still with the Australian captain Teddy. As well as the next million dollar player in Manu, and the next Queensland halfback in Walker.

They only score 12 to one of the worst defensive teams in the top 8. And have 54 put on them

We don't have these types of players. If we lose to by this score everyone on the forum and in the media think its the end of the world and call to sack the coach.

>Iva Roosters lose they say they don't have their stars.

Thanks for the perspective. I suppose the issue is Roosters do it once per season and we do it multiple times

Because the Roosters have not had a squad as weak as this current team for as long as anyone can remember, and Robinson with all his coaching cred is not going to make much difference when he comes up against better squads. The defensive structure... very WTs like.

So it's not the coach but the quality of the players. I agree.

I suppose when Ivan was here it was the quality of the players that helped us beat Melbourne twice.

Ivan is an excellent coach, far better than Maguire.

This is his 15th season coaching FG and he has never won a comp.
that’s the worst record per capita in the NRL

I can’t believe some people believe think Madge is a better coach than Cleary. It isn’t even close.

Well even if that’s true Ivan dogged the club, the players and his good mate who got him a job when he didn’t have one. Ivan saw the writing on the wall and ran. At least Madge has the balls to take the challenge.

It would have been better if Madge didn't take up the challenge. Look at the disaster that is our NRL team. There is not getting around it.

Madge will get us there , it’s a work in progress , all this Madge bashing is rubbish just support your team and reap the benefits

Bateman has already shown he's a top class NRL player though

Brent Read was reporting today John Bateman is looking to return to the NRL. Tigers should have a red hit crack if true.

That bloke has questionable character

I don’t think he has done much wrong tbh. Would easily be our best player. I don’t see us getting the signature of gun players though we can’t even sign borderline firstgraders.
