Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Harry Grant hasn't put the club down since returning to the Storm. He was recently reported to have said he could see what Madge was trying to build and that it would all come together eventually for us. That's a pretty fair endorsement from a man who will be, if he isn't already, one of the game's best players.

Classy individual

Harris Tavita to hit November 1 without a new deal. Warriors holding off on resigning him.
With talks of Walsh or Manu playing 6 in the future we should seriously look at him.
Big, talented, strong half with an exceptionally good long kick on him.
I’d be happy to sign him either next year or the following to put pressure on our other halves. Would pair well with Hastings or Doueihi (Tavita is a left foot, left side player)

I don’t think he’s really a half. Think his kicking game is pretty poor but I think with the talents he does have, he’d make a real good centre. Bit of ball playing, strong runner and good in defence. Would not take him to play halves

You are right Demps , cant please everyone no matter who we sign , end of the day hopefully whoever we sign is a good fit for the club

I’m gonna propose a theory. Feel free to disagree. But I think the number 1 reason why players like BJ and Roberts failed is out of laziness. I don’t think Elliot is lazy

I agree with you on BJ. I don't believe Roberts is lazy. He lacked opportunity in our backline.

Elliot is not lazy. If it was a one-off occurrence I would be interested. But it is repeated.

Tbf, he’s been an idiot, but hasn’t broken any laws.

But that behaviour has the potential to further undermine a fractured dressing shed.

How can his history undermine our future? Most clubs have a few crazies?

Anyway Madge will sort him out.

Why do you think the US Army has a non fraternization policy?

Among a number of reasons, it can create an actual or clearly predictable adverse impact on discipline, authority, morale or the ability of the command to accomplish a mission.

Trying to baffle me with Scientology logic, won’t work P&C.

We need a good centre.

Helium Luki still unsigned from what I can find.

Obviously need to balance experience and youth in the roster, though our experienced players are the ones that have let us down this year which means experience is good but has to be the right fit still

I think Helium is a gas player.

I think we need woodsy guys. He's a leader and he'll hopefully turn the media stories into something more upbeat.

Him wanting to come home gives us a positive story that we desperately need to help break the back of recruiting. Not a marque signing that we really need, but someone who could talk about how much he loves the club.

Looking at benji last night, I honestly think we got that one wrong.

We tried him as a leader and that didn’t end well

I think him or Dylan brown would make a phenomenal modern day centre, more so brown. He’s tall, fast, great in d and is always run first. Chanel is pretty similar

Elliot is not lazy. If it was a one-off occurrence I would be interested. But it is repeated.

I reckon the common factor is alcohol. I stopped drinking some years back because of the things I did when I was drinking, things that didn't always match with the ethics I believe I have. I just reckon, like a proportion of the population that alcohol puts him in places and situations he might avoid if sober.

I'm not preaching at anyone cos I know most people don't have issues with alcohol, and enjoy it, but it seems a lot of stuff Elliott gets involved in, is after a day/night of drinking.

He should be light on his feet.

If by workhorse we mean leading the bulldogs forwards in missed tackles, ineffective tackles, line break causes, errors and try causes, then Adam Elliot is a workhorse. I posted it in the other thread but statistically speaking Elliot is the worst back rower in the NRL. Ethically speaking, he also appears to be the worst. We need to stop this from happening for the sake of our on field performances and culture.

Lock will do

Tamou will have to go.

Nah think you're right one or the other and as much as it pains me to say Woods has Tamou's number and then some, It is what it is!

Plus he’s got a Leichhardt postcode tatt so that puts him in front…..

Unless AD is a centre we need 2 good centres.

Good on you mate. Takes a man to admit they have a problem and an ever bigger one to do something about it. You’re right some people have issues with Alcohol and some don’t. I like a beer but have been one of the lucky ones where it doesn’t change my behaviour. I feel for some young blokes in the NRL who clearly have an issue with Alcohol but don’t seem to be able to walk away from it. I guess sometimes it’s hard to take that first step.
