Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It would be very Wests Tigers to have their best ever year in Jersey Flegg going undefeated then losing all the best ones

We won't know if letting certain juniors go is a good decision for a number of years though so I won't spend my time worrying about it 😂

Remember it is recruiting and retaining juniors that our future success is built on. This is our new mantra, shame we don't be able to implement it

If you want to know why players don’t want to come here it’s because they want to play finals. Look at the players who left us last year and I think they are all playing finals

We will only attract players when we have success. Players want to have succes, play finals, win premierships. Whoever is selling the dream to potential recruits isn’t convincing them that things are going to change. When they see us getting smashed 38-0 by the wooden spooners then they put a big x on our name. We are in a long term play and the onli way out is to recruit young guns like Laurie and Stefano and hope they develop and want to continue what they started here.

Mate, most of these players were let go as they were not in Madge's long term plans. With these four players we are not a spot higher on the ladder. The thing about these guys mostly, they are stop gap players who can 'hold down a position', while the other players excel around them. Similar to George Jennings at Melbourne, or even Adam Keighran helping out the Roosters in the centres the last few months. If you put these guys above in teams 9th-10th they still don't make the finals. These guys have benefited from being on the back of some pretty good teams.

The key to most good NRL Teams is having your core of 6-10 really good NRL Players, and then the rest are just doing their jobs. Same in 05, we have Elford and Fitzhenry in the backline. They may not of even started in plenty of NRL Teams that year, but they held their spots and allowed us to pay bigger money for others etc. Our problem is we seem to have about 12 stop gap players and our other 5 are just "ok".

I mean no disrespect but I think @TIGERPOWER is also trying to say that regardless if those players are in the club’s plans or not, people only look at the final product - the team’s quality, how it's building but also the course the club is taking. The manner in which two of those players(and other former players have) left likely makes them think something is very wrong here and we're unable to manoeuvre through it - we look unprofessional and amateurish when this happens, as It's never on our terms.
Ofcourse these players aren't the best and the teams they end up at are clearly strongly than us, however we've regressed (year after year) when we've lost these players and haven't adequately filled these positions. So they probably question the logic/strategy from the club and feel like it's too much work.
Either way it impacts the perception of the club negatively and thus our ability to improve the squad through recruitment.

Brent Read saying that Peachey has been offered to WT and raiders. Wants a 3 year deal @ $400k a season. Both clubs don't want to pay that price.

Fair price.
Hopefully something can be worked out.
We need him more than the raiders.

Raiders however need a 7...
Can think of a guy.

He is just a little hot and cold for mine. $300 - 330k I would be happy with.

If Canberra is offering 250k, no reason we can't offer the price you mentioned and win the race.

Walks into #13

Him on the bench would be great instead of another hooker

Wonder where we would play him hopefully not a 14 at that price.

Getting Peachey for a little under $400K is a no brainer. too bad Wests Tigers have no brains when there is a real bargain on offer. Odds are Peachey will not be signed by Wests tigers.

Our review will still be going into 2022 so no signings until then.. Wonder if Peach will be willing to wait until then as we are such a successful club and worth the wait..
I would love to pick him up as a 13 or 14 and 350-400k is a fair price for him.

If not Peachey I would be looking at Dylan Walker who can cover quite a few positions.
This club has completely taken the faith away from most of us supporters and unless they pull there finger out I just cannot see us getting better next year and memberships will be dropping.
Surely they hove to know how pissed there supporter base is

Transfer the guy you speak of to the Raiders and use some of that cap to pay Peachy $400k?
