The Pom has indicated that Madge would hold his coaching position.

The Pom might be off the mark on this one.

I hope so mate, Ciraldo is the bloke we need, even though you don't like the idea of a rookie coach. He has Penrith as the best defensive team in the NRL, he has respect among the players, and he could attract some quality players. He basically is everything Madge is not, and we need

Barrett had the Panthers attack looking pretty good too…didn’t transcend to the Bulldogs.

Barrett can attract players, Madge could only dream of, and Penriths attack revolved around Cleary, Penriths defence doesn't revolve around one player, so completely different

Is it Barrett who can attract them, or the Dogs? Is it Madge who can’t attract players or is it Wests Tigers?

I think it's clearly the WT Club. The leadership, management, resources and structures of the Club; a reluctantly merged, partisan, divided and unaccountable Board that runs the joint is the problem.

Jack Manning-Bancroft got panned by many on here for exposing the artificial and convenient nature of the WT narrative since the merger. It's superficial rubbish. Three-word slogans that even Tony Abbott would baulk at.

By contrast, did you read the comments of Trent Robinson after the Roosters were booted out ingloriously at the hands of Manly? He said that the resilience, courage and efforts of the 2021 squad would strengthen the Club into the future; not the "team", not "him" as coach, but the Club.

That's what we don't have. And, it's got nothing to do with the coach.
It's the shambolic, incoherent and selfish leadership of the Chair, CEO and Board that stifles any positive future for the Club, in it's current state.

If Madge is gone, it will be interesting what the club does for the next coach I.e open the purse strings, that they never afforded Madge.

Is this a joke, he got to offer Latrell over a million a year, JAC, TPJ, Finucane got offered good coin, there were more, he had money, but no decent player wanted to play under Madge

At least 2 of those players have been reported, factually, as inflating their prices by using WT as a supposed suitor, when they were never coming. Hard to blame the club or Madge on those players.

If we had landed Latrell we would have had no money for anybody else. It would be one star (who is often lazy) surrounded by a team of minimum wagers. It's a different story now that Mbye and Packer are off the books.

The point was Madge did have money and quite a bit to buy players, he couldn't land any, so he had to get young players

How goods it going to be when the new coach comes in and all the superstar players come flooding in to sign with the Tigers!

& suspended for 10 matches this season (approx?) A dirty player who ought to have actually been rubbed out for the 10 games after conking Garner twice & Nofo off the ball in the head. & No Sin Bin on all occasions! But Superstar Scum get away with it. Only just saw that dirty Luai trick of knocking a player off the ball in the Riff Bunnies game & of the drag back on Slimey Moses on Saturday when Parra attacked down Fergos wing. Some teams & players are protected as we know.

There’s an obvious gulf in this forum of members who want improvement but have no idea of how to achieve it and those who have a reasonable grasp of what it takes to build a good football team. Not having a go at you, mate, but the forum in general

And, in which camp do you think you reside?

I think you are captain/coach/CEO and orange peeler of the deluded mob who think any of us on here, you included, have any knowledge, expertise or understanding of how a successful football team and club function.

Spare us your arrogance, please.

Here comes the hero of the WTF again. Don’t say “us” like you speak for others, you just put others on blast for having an opinion.

Didn’t want them anyway. South’s are lamenting Latrell, Finucane is past it, TPJ is a small minute cameo at riff and JAC is an over priced winger. Saved our cash.

Would you be saying this if they all signed?

Finucane is the only one that would get my interest, but even then... why would the club offer a 4 year deal, which is what he wanted and what he got? I think the club handled that well. He got an offer to show we were interested, and it's up to him what motivates him. Bugger paying big dollars for 4 years. Have we learned nothing?

Not a fan of Mitchell or Pangai Jr. Neither offers the most important things we need, being leadership and 100% effort every game.

No, I'm sad that reading is difficult for you, but I'm calling our the arrogance of the poster who said he/she/it has more knowledge of how a successful NRL club is led and managed than any other of us on here. Simple as that.

It appears reading is difficult for yourself. I didn't say I had more knowledge than anyone in here. Simple as that.

Maumalo, Doueihi, Laurie, Stef. Madge signed our four most consistent players.

He was hamstrung by horrendous decisions made before he got here. Our highest paid players signed for four years, did not play often and when they did they were crap. What superstar player wanted to come here and play with Russell Packer and Mbye? It ain’t Madge.

Madge can't get solid first graders, let alone super stars, so any new coach who can attract solid first graders is an upgrade from where Madge has us placed

Then why did the red hot souths players turn on him, why could he only get them to 12th in 2016, and 12th in 2017, why did souths sack him, his last 5 years at NRL level coaching are horrendous.
It is Madge, but he is not the sole problem and others need to go as well

Anything said about who our coach will be.

Keen to know myself... Fingers crossed we know this week

The coach is not the reason we can’t attract players. The front office (Board) is. Many players just use us as a bargaining chip to up their worth. That is changing, slowly. More than anything we need stability, the current split Board is the destabilising factor. They need to present a united front outside the Board room. Something this current Board is incapable of.

You can say the same for any coach who has been around for years, including the most celebrated coaches. Why did Wayne Bennett get sacked by Brisbane? Why was Bennett hounded out of Newcastle? Why was Bennett sacked from England? Why did Bellamy need to rort the salary cap?

You can't just cherry pick the lean years and ignore the success. The fact is with his two premierships at different clubs, and his NZ test coaching as well, Madge has achieved more in professional rugby league than any of his likely replacements.
