Geez people say some really stupid things.
If you look at the last game Brooks wasn’t the main culprit. Brooks was the only one chasing the bulldogs breaks and covering. To lose 30+ is more on the whole squad than the halfback. He didn’t throw an intercept pass, didn’t shy from making a tackle and didn’t set the opposition up. Yes he played terrible but others played alot worse.

He missed 6 tackles that game. He definitely did not put in

Even if he wasn’t putting in, that still isn’t tanking. And he wasn’t the only one who didn’t put in that day, but seems to be the only one being called out for it.

Rabbitohs departing players

Brock Gardiner - 2019 to 2021 - 12 games (All Grades)
Joshua Cook - 2019 to 2021 - 30 games (All Grades)
Troy Dargan - 2020 to 2021 - 12 games (All Grades)
Steven Marsters - 2020 to 2021 - 17 games (All Grades)
Patrick Mago - 2020 to 2021 - 18 games (All Grades)
Braidon Burns - 2017 to 2021 - 43 games (All Grades)
Jaydn Su'A - 2019 to 2021 - 57 games (All Grades)
Benji Marshall - 2021 - 22 NRL games for South Sydney
Dane Gagai - 2018 to 2021 - 92 NRL games for South Sydney
Adam Reynolds - 2009 to 2021 - 277 games (All Grades)

Steven Marsters worth a punt at centre. Did well in his game time last season

Damn I thought Marsters looked pretty good when he debuted, also a lot of teams could do worse than Mago as a bench prop. Mago is solid but his best games always seemed to be in the trials.

Nah mago is off to the super league

I'm looking forward to seeing someone a Reynolds' calibre in the broncos halves. Idm Gamble and Kelly, but he can teach them a lot.

How I want it to play out is Gamble partners Reynolds for the next 3 seasons and learns as much as possible from him. Then when Reynolds retires gamble is ready to step up and take over as their organising halfback. Gamble may not be a superstar, but I think he could be solid and he seems to have the passion and drive to control the team.

Besides Reynolds, I think the Broncos recruitment has been poor. The only other half decent signing they made was Capewell.

Nah not really. Looks like they have recruited pretty well for 2022

Hardly. Ryan James would have been a good signing 5 years ago. Branko Lee would be ok, except for the fact he hasn’t played in God knows how long. Billy Walters is the definition of nepotism. The rest aren’t established first graders.

Those 2 alone make their recruitment above average.

I would take our recruiting over that rabble. Reynolds is a good organiser but for all that he had 7 try assists in 27 games. Capewell is defensively not the best and the rest wouldnt make our too 17.

We have signed Maumalo, Hastings, Peachey and Gildart - i wouldnt swap those 4 for the Broncos signings and at least we still have money and spots left

Nathan Cleary missed 9 tackles in the Grand Final and got the Clive Churchill Medal.

You wanted Jamal Fogarty here?

He's a massive upgrade on Brooks

Glad you think so, I don't.

Players available?

The expansion team is not good news for our recruitment or retention

I disagree. If we were the Broncos, Roosters, Eels, or Storm I'd be concerned, realistically we don't have as many desirable players off contract next year so I can't see us getting picked apart as much. We need to just be very careful in locking up the right juniors and development players though. There's already 15 clubs keeping an eye on our roster, one more won't push us over the edge.

Stefano will likely be a target the following year however it won't just be the second Brisbane team he will be the target of.

That’s what we thought about Matterson and Aloiai. It doesn’t take much to get out of a contract these days, especially if you play for the Tigers. ***We always fold.***

It will definitely hurt recruitment. New Brisbane team coached by Bennett with a full salary cap… ouch.

If you’ve watched the 2 since Fogarty debuted its really not.

Brooks was the "next Joey" after two games. He really was.

There’s a reason he’ll only be on $330k odd a year…

The amount Brooks should be on.

We really need lomax in the centres

We really need halves that pass to centres.

Lol why would you give early ball to any of our centres ? They’re all terrible

Ha indeed, but why bother with lomax if he won’t get the ball. Cut outs to second rowers and inside balls to second rowers seem to be what we do. It’s no wonder we don’t score any points

Since when do we not score points? Were 9th for points scored. Admittedly 9th isnt great but when you consider that were 15th for points conceded and that poor defense reduces attacking opportunities 9th is quite an achievement.

We were actually one of the worst attacking teams considering majority of our points were scored when we were losing games by a 18 plus margin. Don’t let the points for fool you.

When we have the worst defence in the comp it is only logical that the majority of our points would be scored when we are losing games by some margin.
Additionally blow out scorelines were common throughout the season for all the bottom 10 teams. Why would I not consider our points for when many of the other teams points for were scored in similarly one sided games.

They havent added peachy yet which makes 25
And then Among and Cini weren't farewell at end of year even though their contracts expire
