My point is we need something valuable in return to offset the disadvantage of letting an average NRL half back go in our position.

That's up to the negotiating powers up at Head Office. Main thing is he needs to go so we can move forward, and he can move forward. The halfback is too important of a position to be wasting on someone we know can't cut it.

AD gone till round 15 at the earliest. No way can you go half the year with Hastings and Madden as the halves.

I understand that, but if as you say it is a pay rise (he is reportedly on good money at Tigers), who is paying the pay rise? THe only one that makes sense in your scenario would be the Knights paying the pay rise, but I just cant see them paying $800K+ for Brooks. I also cant see the incentive for the Tigers to pay out anything in the current situation.
