What a joke follow the roooters recruitment model , we don’t have enough brown paper bags to be able to follow that model. U can bet ur last dollar what ever smith signs for which will be unders , when he retires there will be a nice envelope from uncle nic waiting for him

As he said in his interview he will be set up for life -

Long term payments and a trust fund set up to pay him well into his senior years I suspect. No other club can compete against that

the chooks' spine is about to become a cheat code

1 Tedesco
6 Keary
7 Walker
9 Smith
13 Radley
14 Watson

not to mention Manu, Crichton, Suaalii, Momirovski, Collins, SST etc. they are practically guaranteed to win a premiership within the next 3 years.

For the next 3 years*

How stacked is that. Love a player of Watson's quality to come and be happy to play 14 for us...

Speaking of stacked…

Looks like Teddy has enjoyed the off season

The Brandon Smith Interview in the Last 24 hours has spelled out just how professional and detailed the Roosters recruitment process.

Thats the template there Wests Tigers Management

Lets learn from the best and stop bungling the JAC and TPJs that somehow slip from out fingers.

Mow for a genuine Marquee

Smith is nothing more than a hypocrite, he stated how professional the Roosters were in keep negotiations out of the public eye and then he goes on a podcast putting everything in public.

Well when you have someone like Unca Nick making the team his life legacy... that's what will probably happen!

Shame Harry T is only interested in the free merch.

I’m sure a few players wouldn’t mind an off the plan investment property

Downvote!

Bad luck others haven't contributed as much as Harry.

You know even if we offer $1M a season for him .. the papers will report that he’s signed with the Rorters for $6K ..

A National draft system like the AFL use has to come into play soon in the NRL, or the richer clubs will continue to abuse the CAP system that the NRL currently use .. it’s not a CAP system, it’s a CRAP system and every club and supporter knows it .. !!

And if they instigate the Draft - then they are daft!

NRL is hopeless at enforcing the cap when it comes to top tier Teams
Clubs should be investigated for listing player contracts well below their Market value

Clubs getting away with it makes me sick

The solution is for the NRL to independently asses the value of each top 30 player in the roster within the cap and let the club pay whatever it wants the player….

Why’s everyone complaining?

They lost friend and cordner this year… they’re under the cap..

Yeah, when you consider those losses you'd like to think that they're under the cap. And then you look at the rest of their squad being littered with Origin players and internationals and you start to realise there is no way in hell that they're under the cap. Sure, they lost a few key players but that doesn't account for the fact that nearly every single player in their starting 13 is a rep level player. Can't believe there are people actually trying to vouch for the Roosters being under the cap just because they lost a few players.

Exactly. It’s laughable.

Its never about who they lose its about who they have got. They never lose players to stay under the cap they lose players that they no longer want or retire, and replace them with equally good ones or better.

That’s not lard around Teddies gut area , he was in Double Bay collecting his bonus from unca nick , that’s cash sticky taped around his waste , you can tell , the girls says why we walking so fast and teddy saying just let’s get home , I got to go off the grid for a week and when I come out they will say I been back training hard lost 10 kg in a week , stash the cash in our spare bedroom safe

Well we could learn from Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates or Warren Buffett, doesn't mean it's replicable.

Lose Pearce gain Cronk. Lose RTS gain Tedesco. Lose Friend gain Cheese. It's like a constant upgrade system but never seems to cost them any extra money.

In a decade or so the Roosters spine will be Jesus, Zeus, Hercules and Superman, and all 4 will claim they are playing for the chance of a premiership and the Roosters professionalism.

Would a draft stop this sort of thing?

That's what they are selling to those willing to buy it - the players play for less - oh but they will be set up for life.
