Gould and Sheens are very experienced. I'm sure Gould will try to get every last cent from the WTs for his players. I have no doubt Sheens will attempt to put as much pressure on the Bulldogs in terms of the salary cap. You would believe they need to find homes for some players to accommodate all their purchases. Letting the Dogs stew for a little bit will do us no harm.

Sure. But don’t players get paid by the month?
Gould can hang on as long as he likes. However, the longer Nick & Luke stay at the dogs the more their cap suffers. And the pressure builds on there overall salary cap. I’m not exactly sure how it works , if the cap is by the calendar year or financial year.

Salary cap starts from November1.

Thanks Bathurst!
With the Bulldogs having already started paying the full freight of Nick & Lukes wages for 2022, if they are going to release them .you’d imagine they would be keen to do it sooner rather than later. And be the ones more under pressure to budge in the salary split negotiations

Agree, something will crack soon? Looks like (probably) the Dogs are holding it up, hoping for more cash?

at the same time though, the longer they hold out the more they are paying them for this year and the less we pay them for this year
if it isn't sorted soon i think it will fall through

Is that an option though?

I thought they had cap issues, this year as well? Maybe I got that wrong?

im sure they do too
but i merely meant they have paid thompson and cotric 1 month each of their massive salaries, and thats 1 month less we have to pay on whatever we agree on

It is December so that is 2 months of the cap they have to pay or one sixth of the total wage,The longer they stuff around the more it hurts them.In just over 3 weeks it becomes a quarter of their salary.
Hopefully our officials stick to their guns the dogs need to offload them far more than we need to get them.

You know it will all happen at once. One Signing will trigger a few. Hopefully we end up with cotric, Thompson I haven't really watched him play but he's on big coin so unsure

If the Cows want Lucy that bad, leverage more $$ towards Thompsons release, than a / swap "for that young second rower" ... Which i think we have covered.

Thompson vrs Lucy... no contest for mind!!

Luc can play. I wish he stayed but not on those dollars. We also have heaps of middle forwards but we lack edge backrowers. I'd keep Luc unless we get an edge backrower as a replacement.

LL is a good player and a great guy to have around the team.

Im sad hes leaving,

in saying that he isnt a 700K player.

Completely agree.especially as it is more than likely he will spend more than a few weeks suspended because his style of play is going to attract attention from refs and the match review commitee.
The dogs can keep him imo

Im not keen on Thompson being the highest paid at the club.

You’re forgetting Luke Brooks.

Thompson is 800k

I would be more comfortable having him as the highest paid than I was with Moses.

Agree, but both are not marquee men.
