Why would we release Luciano for no reason? One of those young 2nd towers for Luciano is the deal, if they don't like it then to bad.

Seriously, we don't. Everyone else is thinking "key players" find players who are above average and can win games.
Neither Cotric or Herbie are Game winners, they are good players, but they aren't standouts on current form (Cotric was, but now is under performing.).

We want the best 13 we can put on the field. Heck Easts often has their "best 5" and the rest get chickenfeed, Storm likewise it's Munster, Pap's, and maybe only a few others. You can always ask a reserve grader to step up.
You can't expect Average to be a GUN!

That's why we shouldn't just "get Both", that is also why with two wingers in Nofa and Ken M, we shouldn't be getting another winger. Maybe Cotric could be winger + Fullback coverage but really we have Peachy and Doueihi for this.

We want Top shelf, we want GUNS, awesome players taking the field. We can train defensive structures (which we don't) but we cannot train the brilliance of say Slater, Ponga, Pap's, Luai, etc.

As bad as it sounds, the big 4 was the right idea (ok except Woods was waning and Moses can't play with Brooks). Keeping someone like Taupau was also the right idea as he has such an impact.

This "big bus" and massive depth idea SUCKS! Would rather have a team that can make the finals and take a risk on Injuries then have a team that can't make the finals, but know the depth is there to come 9th.

Luciano Leulia was that impact player, probably our best impact on the line next to stephano.
Paulo would improve him all around, better defender and more impact.

How quickly they turn. He was loved by many on here last year. Average season, signs with another club for 2023 and he's hated.

I hope Stefano or Laurie don't have an ordinary season next year. I enjoy seeing the positivity towards those guys.

If this was the choice we were facing (ie Paulo/Stef vs Cotric/Herbie) then I would agree with you.

Thing is I just don’t know how much cap space we have left…does anyone know and can share?
Might help make these discussions less speculative.

Believe the ex cowboys recruitment manager now at the be knights. He may have recruited Luki at the cows as a junior. Other than that, have no idea. @tigerballs had mentioned we made a good offer $$$ wise. Peter Toohey (Newcastle journo) mentioned they are a “big chance” to sign him
