Interestingly, both Luki (21) and Nanai (19) were signed by the Cowboys at age 15 and both debuted prior to the club signing Luci. I would think one of them would come off the bench to give Luci a spell?

No way on earth can we swap our best player this year for a cowboys reject. We need one of their top 17. We need quality and have heaps of room

But it doesn't make any sense, where would they play Lucy, Nanai, Luki and Taumololo? There's just not room for them all too be out there as much as they all want to be and a lot of money there too

Luki has that build to be an athletic style mobile middle. Maybe it’s something like that? He’s a similar build to McLean so perhaps that’s Paytens thinking

In 22 years I am pretty sure that there have only been a handful of notable McArthur & Balmain local Juniors to serve long careers with WestsTigers - Teddy, Chris Lawrence & Nofo, Robbie, Brooks, Woods, Nathan Brown (oops sorry - we let him go). It would seem that no matter how big your backyard is, talent is rare. The Pathways program is important & The Centre of Excellence is desperately needed in order to keep these kids interested. Hopefully, it opens sooner than later cos like COVID lockdown for lower grades over the past two years players unique & rare talent isn't being developed. Tigers!

Most of the Macarthur juniors have played elsewhere.

Gone from the club by 16 due to a lack of interest, talent identification and pathways.

Might require overs but it can be done... 😂

Agreed mate, how good is Tapine, hard as nails and makes so many post contact meters..also hits like a train in defence. Your 12 and 13 would also offer plenty.I guess we can dream

Our hardball philosophy of not paying "overs" has stuffed us. Aloiai, Lucy, Kelma would have been our best forwards next year with Stef and Paps. Now we have to pay overs anyway to chase blokes like Tapine , who might still laugh us off.

We need to update our thinking, if Lucy is worth 700, garlic sauce worth 500 or whatever, then that's the market price. It kills me we are UNDER THE CAP and lose these guys.

I was OK with some of these decisions at the time, but I'm not running a football club. If I was I'd expect the axe to fall.
