Stefano needs a quality starter and another rotational hit man beside him. Musgrove is starting to get some form but roster wise we are 2 short for next year.

Don't know why we aren't in the race for Vaughan who is actually off contract next year - know he has moments but he is actually been in good form for the Bulldogs & wouldn't be the most expensive option running around ATM for a stable contract.

No issue with Twal.
Eiso is much weaker imo.

In regards to Twal - Ineffective?

In the last 3 weeks he has run for 166, 121 and 186m respectively...from the bench.

Slow? Do you not recall the famous 50 yard dash up the middle several years ago? untouchable.

Twal may not be a dynamic prop with a raft of tackle breaking ability or offloads, but he has a tremendous motor, tackles at over 99% efficiency and makes considerable metres when given the game time to do so.

Between he and Huth, it's a lay-down misere to Twal. In my opinion.

Eiso and Twal are actually very comparable players through their careers & currently - to suggest one is better than the other doesn't make much sense to me - but people see things differently (not saying that's what your saying either)

I will give Twal credit the last 3 weeks he has absolutely lifted & love it. We need this to continue.
We have a starting forward position up for grabs next year but we need more aggression.
Just wish his game would evolve with abit more focus on post contact mtrs and an offload.

Agree 100%.
Looking back the year prior to Ivan they started with Peter Wallace whom retired mid year. A young Sione Katoa was their hooker for the remainder of the year and including the finals.
2019, Ivan arrives, tries out Katoa, isn’t convinced, tries out Egan isn’t convinced, pulls Kenny from Windsor Wolves and has him play out the remainder of the year. Signing Korisou bang on Nov 1.
The other part though is although 2019 was an inconsistent year there were signs.
It was a year following a top 5 finish and a year that started with plenty of Scandal at the club.
Despite that they won 7 in a row.
Kept the opposition under 3 tries in 11 games that year and scored 3 tries or more against the opposition 12 times.

TIGER TO JOIN PREMIERS

Wests Tigers’ Luke Garner has reportedly signed a two-year deal with Penrith starting next season.

The Panthers have signed Garner to replace Viliame Kikau who will join the Bulldogs next season, according to The Daily Telegraph.

This season Garner has averaged of 56 run metres, 11 tackles and 1.6 tackle busts across his eight games.

The 26-year-old has reportedly taken a pay cut on his $375,000 deal at the Wests Tigers to link with the Penrith juggernaut.

Garner has played 62 NRL games and was his debut by then Tigers coach Ivan Cleary in 2018.

Cleary now coaches Penrith and was reportedly instrumental in signing Garner this week.

Garner was definiltey overpaid, he's a 200-250k player max. Not good value at all. But Kikau is on what 650-700k over there. So not re-signing Kikau and signing Garner saves them 400-500k all up - to be spread out on upgrading other players

It's interesting, Eiso and Twal were two very similar players so we couldn't really carry both yet some loved one and hated the other. We chose Twal. Eiso went back home to Penrith.
Eiso is a far more skillful and versatile player, far better ball skills, offloader, agility, while being equal to Twal hitting up the ball. Twal has a slightly higher effective tackle %. How anyone could like Twal but dislike Eiso is beyond me.

Unless his dissatisfaction is purely dollar based? Maybe he's looked at the reported salaries of others in the league and just wants more. AFB, Lodge, as front rowers are reportedly on more, whether it's true or not, he may feel he wants the top amount. Top line NFL players always try to negotiate to be the highest paid at their position. Must be an esteem thing.

Stated how I felt...

Eiso too soft.
No intent.
Didn't like him.

I see a far better in Twal.
Still haven't seen his best yet either.

Very important piece to the puzzle.

Eiso was just a massive cat.
Know who'd I'd rather have by my side in the trenches.
