I agree, but there was nothing coy about the statement. It was an emphatic denial that we would even be interested in such a player, and that we're all good building from within. There's nothing wrong with being coy about our recruitment and retention plans IMO.
Probably should've worded it better but meant more with the media. Believe they're just like us and wanna know the ins and outs of a cat's arse - re😱ur plans and specifically targets.I agree, but there was nothing coy about the statement. It's an extremely depressing statement. Sheens should shut up. Immediately dismissing the idea of signing a high quality player because we have 17 year olds and a bunch of failures.
Nothing should get in the way signing elite players.
Anasta is a big Sheens fan though. We have zero chance of signing Munster however much we offered the guy. Anasta, his agent, isn't a WT fan, to put it mildly, and he'll get all the cash he wants anyway from either the Storm or from the Dolphins.
Thanks as this is what I've been trying to say.Or he could be doing a Gould and take total pressure / contract activity out of the media.
It’s smart actually given our history. Build up the kids but keep any significant talk behind scenes
Munster talk has been all behind scenes with sniffs coming out for Storm/Dolphins but nothing of substance in the media thats how the star contracts are normally handled.
Not every time…..there were a few calls you guessed wrong,,,,time always tellsWe will see. Time proves the truth and Ive been proven right every time....you on the other hand... still pretending.
Remember if its not me or @THE_POM is an imitation.
Love to see us land a really big fish like this guy but this looks like either the usual agent driven garbage to drive up a client's price or some media idiot inventing a storyAnasta is a big Sheens fan though.
That was the sole reason he joined us.
Not saying anything will happen though, just can’t see it. In saying that we have one of the best hookers and backrowers joining us in form next year. So anything is possible I guess.
That's fine as well. As long as there is a strategy which the club is working towards.if we seriously get it together it will still be 2 years away
It might be fine by you Paws but I can guarantee if results don't improve on the field with the FG side the same people who are targeted this year will be in the firing line again next year along with coach. That's fine as well. As long as there is a strategy which the club is working towards.
"Although Munster has considerable offers to weigh up, it’s believed he’d take slight unders at the Storm if their offer wasn’t considerably less than what rivals were tabling."Also it is just entertaining that this fox story breaks the same morning this one does from SEN -
Storm now “in a position” to keep Munster with seven-figure a year new deal
“They’ve rejigged the salary cap numbers.”www.sen.com.au
Which says storm can reach a $1M a season, seems the tigers article is placed because the $1M one might not be enough to keep him in melbourne

Yea we should just offer him 600k so when he says no the media will just say we low balled him. The offer ( if true ) of 7 mill over 5 years puts it out there that we will pay good money to genuine superstars and game breakers. You make a bid like that $7 mill and what happens if still doesn't get signature ? We will be illuminating the tainted image we suffer from
.Everyone will say all that money and still no go ! Wow be careful
Nah Paws your just like most of us you have favourites that you can find excuses for and others not.I take a different and realistic view. After the last (nearly) 4 years it is going to take take time to turn around results, culture and level of skill. I am trying not to be too negative but I hope I never witness a WTs' team playing robotic football again.
If I see players working as a team, team performances improving (even if we don't win), individual skills of our roster improving, players being encouraged to use instinctive play (especially fullback, halves, lock and hooker), leadership skills being developed in the squad, improved defence and improving ability to "win the big moments in a game", I will be satisfied.
This was consistent with my view under the previous Coach.
Or Sheens negating the possibility of the NRL slapping us with a please explain as to how we are making an offer before Nov 1. We know every club does it but we would be hit if we did it.Hooper has lost all credibility with his Munster story beginning with "the way we've heard it the Tigers are talking about". Some unnamed Tiger who can't talk to Munster before November 1st told someone who told Hooper? This reeks of cash for comments with Hooper passing on Anasta's rubbish to the media without naming him as the source and getting him deregistered. From the Tigers point of view it's borderline libel.

I am firmly of the view there is more to this squad than what we witnessed over the last 4 years. The rush to denigrate it on this forum is for one purpose only but I won't revisit that again.Nah Paws your just like most of us you have favourites that you can find excuses for and others not.
The realistic view is that they are all or have been on a hiding to nothing until someone/or the system allows us to assemble a roster able to compete in FG - something that we consistently fail to do.
