Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Why do you think anyone on the board isn't giving 100% towards Wests Tigers? Just because you and a few others on here run a constant yet futile barrage of " lets change the board" doesn't mean that they aren't doing what they think is best for the club. I don't suggest they are doing a great job but they have made changes that hopefully come to fruition over the next couple of years.
Absolutely agree 100%.
Some people are just searching for a silver bullet to fix our on field woes and looking in wrong place.
CEO and the Board doing fine in achieving required finance stability and support facilities infrastructure for the football club.
It is up to the Football Club management to hit their KPI and provide the right players for the roster, coaching expertise and associated support staff achive on field success.
In most cases Chairman the CEO and the Board rely on advice and recommendations from the football department before signing off to implement football related changes.
Unfortunately that didn’t work out very well over the period of time Madge was in charge.
So hopefully that’s how things pan out sometimes.

The board just select themselves ad nauseum - except for the two NRL appointed to it. The whole lot should be forced out for being inadequate.

I think the nrl are not involved with the board anymore since the Loan been paid back.

I'd love to see some detailed factual points about why the board and Pascoe are so bad. Some real factual investigation.

There are so many smear comments but so little detailed facts.

The main Pascoe beat up merchant - Is mostly personal....
Pascoe has made some errors in judgement - for sure,
But most of them were directly because he walked into a rabble
that was set to explode and had been trying to fix the situation on the hop....
The fallout, consequences and re-percussions from those decisions to fix pre-existing issues
at that time.

The Farah Taylor thing existed well before Pascoe hit the organisation
The Big 4 v The Coach thing existed well before Pascoe hit the organisation
The Cleary thing was a little out of his control

The main thing I have issue with was giving Cleary full autonomy over the roster and deals made to players.... Stitching our cap for the last 4 years.
That said, I also understand that every coach has most autonomy over the roster - It's not uncommon... Especially for a struggling club getting a somewhat rated coach.

In our situation, It was heightened by the fact that every one of those signings was a dud....
We got zero value for money out of any of them - Ever.

Most issues anyone would have with Pascoe can be attributed to the fallout from the above....
He's not entirely blameless, And I'm very impartial... But if it's not personal, And you look at everything.... You can get how and why some of the issues have come up.

To be fair to everyone, We were a mess prior to Sheens - And immediately after he left.
I think everyone underestimated how much he held everything together during his time....
I was as glad to see him move on as anyone as a coach, But that was based on squad and game day decisions only... Who knows how much of a conduit he was in the back rooms?

Though initial reports drew plenty of scepticism at the time, in-demand Storm five-eighth Cameron Munster has confirmed that future Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall sent him a text message to gauge his interest in a possible move to the Concord club.
Good move Benji. It costs nothing to ask. Faint heart never won fair maiden which, coincidentally, is the title of my self-help book on dating.

The call centre is working overtime, only time for text messages. Struth I got one , I deleted it by mistake, thought it was about solar panels. Hope we can land 2 or 3 Turbos. Hope we texted them? You don’t ask, you don’t know?

Loaned winger David Nofoaluma has confirmed that he will return to the Wests Tigers in 2023.

The Tigers allowed him to depart the joint venture on loan to the Melbourne Storm for the remainder of the 2022 season just days before the August 1 deadline.

Playing reserve grade for the Tigers at the time, there was a thought process that Nofoaluma would gain plenty out of the move south before returning to the Storm in 2023, including being involved in his first finals series, having never done so at the Tigers.
He has previously been open about what the Storm has meant for his game, suggesting the move has allowed him to enjoy his football again. He also didn't rule out the idea of exiting the Tigers on a more permanent basis.

That notion has now been squashed though, with Nofaluma telling News Corp that he hopes to take the skills he has learnt in Victoria back to Concord.
“It’s a personal thing for myself. I came down to Melbourne to gain some leadership and see some of the leaders here, how they are … it starts with the leaders,” Nofoaluma said.
“That was my focus in coming to Melbourne, not just to be a better player but to get an understanding on how to be the best for your teammates.”
Nofoaluma also admitted that he would have loved to be playing finals football with the Tigers.
“It’s a credit to those players and those teams that have done it in the past," he told the publication.
“For me now, it’s just about working hard and doing what is best for the team and getting the premiership.
“I would have loved it to be at the Tigers but it hasn’t seemed to have worked out for the club over the last 10 years.”

Nofoaluma is on-contract with the Tigers for a further three years, due to remain with the joint venture until at least the end of the 2025 season.
I think someone told him he would have to take a pay cut to play at the storm next year

Anyone have access to the article?

I heard today Munster mentioned family will play into the decision indicating Dolphins with family in qld

Sold any books?
Going after Munster and tying up our salary cap doesn't make sense to me unless our forward pack is a top one.
If we were able to secure the better players in our team and sign some top bookends and a couple of speedy backs like the hammer, then I'd say let's get munster for sure.

Reading the article I think Munster to Dolphins.
From that point Douhie to storm as a 6
That leaves wests tigers with Brooks at 7 and all in on Dylan brown or Moses at 7 and Brooks at 6 or they go with 7 Brooks 6 Laurie and 1. Staines

That last combination is

No, I've been married for 50 years next February so haven't needed to take my own advice, not that I'd recommend it.
I kind of agree with you re Munster. It wouldn't make sense without a strong forward pack which we are still two or three players short on. But, I don't want WT to be going around like a bunch of lepers, afraid to negotiate with the really good players because of our mediocrity. Let's be bold and accept a few no's along the way because one day the answer will be yes (back to my dating advice again).
