I was thinking he isn't worth his 650k contract or whatever he is on now. Maybe with the salary cap increase but let's be honest he is a borderline first grader atm.
Maybe next year he will get his game together and be a weapon but you can't sign players like that. It's nuts.

As for douhie and Hastings if we lose both of them in 2024 that should free up 1.2 million to go after Moses or George Williams

Brooks new deal will not be anywhere near 1.1 million, the current deal was back ended to 1 million for 2023 he was never getting that the previous years.

I don't think so. Brooks next season is the killer and it's been a backdated contract plus Brooks is on the park most of the time.
Brooks has a better kicking game, is heaps better defensively and Brooks creates at least as many opportunities as AD. Brooks has outperformed AD every season they've been here.
I'm not a Brooks fan and I've been pushing for AD to be given a spot in the halves over Brooks for a while.
Brooks big problem is that he is being played as a 7 who has to win the big moments. He isn't that guy.
We don't even know where you play AD atm.

Id say 850k is going to be standard FG half money. The real good ones will be around the mill+ - can guarantee the Parra 2 Burton will be asking well above that.
The drawback for Douehi is if he has done enough to be considered a half/ 5/8th option.

Douhie must have had to many knocks in the head to expect that much money for his services....
A reasonable player at NRL level,plays centre,fullback and demands to play 5/8..
You would expect to pay that money for a specialist halves player with experience and knowledge of the position after years in that position...
I would say Hastings provides experience,leadership and football smarts for about $300k per year is what I would say his worth is...Man of steel award in ESL as part of his resume and is just as versatile as AD,his 13 role he played this year shows that..

Puts his passion for the club into perspective. His only reason for wanting to play in the halves is that he wants top dollar.
I'd tell him we don't view him as a spine player and we are going to play him as a utility or edge backrower. If he sooks he can play reserve grade.
